Short sale and foreclosure statistics for Virginia Beach are a little bit different than the national average.  This is because of the transient population of the military in Virginia Beach.  The total short sale and foreclosure rate in July 2009 in Virginia Beach was about 17%. This year, the total short sale and foreclosure rate for July (2010) in Virginia Beach was about 25%.  Comparatively, the national averages for short sales and foreclosures are much higher. I recently called on a short sale in Virginia Beach to see if was still available and asked my line of questions to the listing agent.  She told me that the bank had approved a price $17k higher then the list price.  I asked why they had it listed that low and she said to get offers on the house.  At the $17k higher price there were never any offers on the house.  Sorry I passed.  Anyone else running into problems like that? 09/05/2010

Virginia Beach Rock N Roll Marathon - September 5, 2010   Last year I got the opportunity to run my first half marathon however, this year I was just a spectator.  Talk about the perfect weather today!   I got to hang out at the 2nd Street Stage with Dave Cynar and Band.  Hanging out there got me motivated to really get myself back into shape.  So I am going to set the goal...next year I am going to run the Rock N Roll Half Marathon again!       09/05/2010
