What April Showers Bring I took this photo of beautiful May flowers on a trip to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson near Charlottesville, Virginia.  It's a wonderful day trip from Washington, DC and it's a great history lesson.  Both the old mansion and the gardens around it are worth the drive.

April 13th was Thomas Jefferson's birthday. Monticello has been very beautiful lately and the crowds are really small these days.  Best wishes, Clifford Kavanaugh, Associate Broker Founder of Keller Williams Realty of CharlottesvilleKeller Williams International Achievement MedalistCertified Short Sale ConsultantView Charlottesville Area Homes for Sale at: www.CvilleHomeSearch.com  You deserve to work with Charlottesville's most experienced Realtor!434-466-5128    (Fax) 434-220-2201    1885 Seminole Trail Suite 100, Charlottesville, VA 22901Licensed to sell Real Estate in the Commonwealth of VirginiaEach Office Independently Owned and Operated    We Support Fair Housing

Today is Monday and after a long weekend of showing homes in Charlottesville, writing an offer and looking at a new listing, I need to take a little break! This morning I have been working on paperwork and setting appointments for three closings this week. With so much business I feel as though I have pulled all my hair out (see photo)... I know that the market seems to be a challenge for a lot of areas, however I can tell you that the Charlottesville Real Estate market is alive and well!!! Did you notice I have not been on my blog for several days? Now I am going to lay my head down and get 20 winks!

I hope that everyone had a safe New Years Party last night? A good friend and client sent me the photo below of someone who just over did things a little. Always good to start the new year off with a little humor! I can still remember the first time I heard the name Albemarle. Not only did I mis-pronounce it, I could not spell it either. Well the main thing to know is that Albemarle is in central Virginia and that Charlottesville  is located almost exactly in the middle of Albemarle. Home of Thomas Jefferson (his home was Monticello) and of course the University of Virginia, I beleive it is a true gem of this great country. The city of Charlottesville has a population of approximately 40 thousand which is why we have the feel of a small town. However, we also have the amenities of a big city. We have theaters, art museums and even big name shows that come to Charlottesville. Our downtown mall is a walking brick lined mall with shops, ice skating and an outdoor theater for weekly events! Many vis...

There are several ways to get to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and one of my favorite ways is by foot. Please preview the video above for a sample of the trail. I hope that you enjoy it half as much as we did taking the hike! Sometimes it is good to explore your own backyard!
