Most of us have been to the Fashion Center at Pentagon City, also known as Pentagon City Mall. Pentagon City Mall is of the few malls that is actually on a metro line in the Washington DC region. The mall was built in 1989 in Arlington, VA. In interesting news, the mall is planning an expansion. The mall plans for new retail shops and restaurants; construction will begin soon on a 50,000 square-foot expansion to the property along Hayes Street, including an new entrance and lobby. The new construction will include two levels of new retail shops and restaurants with outdoor seating. The renovation is expected to be completed by 2015. And your detour takes you to the Washington Monument.  This is a frequent occurrence for me.  Yesterday, I was heading back from a getting a new listing signed in the Forest Hills neighborhood off Arlington Ridge Road in South Arlington (watch out for this coming soon).  Washington Boulevard was backed up, so I took 395 North near the Pentagon.   You have to veer left very quickly to get on the GW Parkway to head back west to the North West side of Arlington where I live.  I often miss the exit and head right into DC, pretty much straight to the Washington Monument, and it happened again yesterday.   I used to get annoyed at myself for missing this turn and going into DC, but this week, in the aftermath of Sandy, I am feeling especially grateful for everything and realized this - what a... 11/03/2012

I know this is supposed to be a real estate and community blog, and I have all of these great blog ideas..... but...... Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S Special Forces yesterday, and I was up late last night and early this morning watching the coverage and know this is what will be on my mind and the conversations at work all day today.   This is such a monumental event, and one I really never thought would happen! DC residents flocked to the White House last night in a wonderful display of patriotism like we've not seen in years.   This country united after 9/11/2001, and we've gradually lost that sense of togetherness since then.  A lot can happen in 10 years.   But the killing of our enemy #1 who was proudly responsible for so many American deaths and heartbreaks seems to be bringin... 05/01/2011
