Not a new possibility for investing but new to many investors  is the ability to  use an IRA fund as the Investment Tool for Real Estate.  Using a Self Directed IRA for Real Estate expands your possibilities and probably your investment income for retirement.Earning more from appreciation and rental income into your  IRA than your are with mutual funds is a big possibility.  There are alot of resources for information about IRA Investment into Real Estate.I have studied Self Directed IRAs and IRA LLC checking accounts and  love to share that information with clients that have IRAs that can benefit  them as a   source for investment.

Recently heading toward Vernal I could not pass up snapping a few shots of this incredible double and full rainbow!  It was the most brilliant rainbow I have ever seen in my entire life.  The dark sky was an excellent backdrop....Other drivers were by the road with their cameras taking memories of the rainbow.

Vernal Utah plants hundreds of pots with petunias each year. The run from the beginning of town on Hwy 40, down Main Street and out to Hwy 40 on the other end of town. It is an amazing display of color. Last spring I posted pictures of the petunias announcing spring. The flowers in the fall were even better. By then they had exploded from their pots and were heading down the curb to the road.

I got the chance to take pictures in September of the area around Vernal Utah. The weather was warm and great for hiking, rock hunting, and of course taking photos. We drove up near Red Cloud Loop for a few hours to enjoy the scenery and we were not disappointed. The Aspen trees were a wonderful contrast with their bright yellow leaves.

Set aside November 28, 2008 for the Holly Days in Vernal Utah. There will be events to participate in from 12-9 pm. The list is so long that I will just mention a few. The day starts with a Turkey Drawing  at 12:00 pm at the Cobble Rock Park and there is a prize drawing at 8:30 pm at the county building. You must be present to win. You can enjoy a ride in a horse drawn carriage, ride the Holly Trolley between venues, or let the children ride the Polar Express Children's Train Ride. A Christmas matinee is available or for the more adventurous the Community Center is offering swimming, rock wall climbing, and an obstacle course. There is something for everyone from concerts, crafts, ice skating, carnival rides and games, professional ice sculpturing demonstration, and soap carving. You ca...

I was delighted to see Christmas decoration going up in Vernal. Cobble Rock Park has beautiful wreaths hanging on the fences and entryway. There are santas hang on posts. They have decorated the light posts with red garland and snowflake tops. It won't be long and they will be turning on the Christmas lights. I can't wait to see the snowflakes lit up all the way down Main Street!

Vernal, Utah is growing and experiencing a good market.  Buyers are coming in and calling to find homes. We have the energy business here and  all the reports I read  speak of  nothing but progress and expansion plans. We have new construction for business' and  the new college campus taking shape.  Everything is busy and I am optimistic. If we can keep the loans coming for our good buyers and enough affordable houses for them to choose from we will be doing great.

About a year and a half ago the daily inventory for the Vernal, Utah Area, Uintah County, was between 50 to 60 residential properties a day. Since then we slowly reached close to 350 properties each day. I am glad to report that during the last month we have been getting closer to 250 per day.  Today we are at 285 with a fair number of those being "To Be Built". We  still need homes in the lower ranges and the higher priced homes starting at about $250,000 are being taken up with builders lowering their prices and giving incentives.  With so much inventory in that price range builders are not bringing many new speculation homes into the market. We have  foreclosures and short sales but the listings are not dominated by them as  in some areas of the country.  Other areas have the majorit...

Red Cloud Loop Area North of Vernal Utah     We recently went four wheeling up at Red Cloud Loop. It is 14 miles from Vernal Utah. If you enjoy camping, hiking, snowmobiling, petroglyphs, horseback riding, picnicking, caving, boating, and of course wildlife this is a place to check out! If you love flowers like I do you will love the wildflowers in the area. I will post some of the ones I saw in June in a later post.

Red fleet Reservoir was named after the Navajo sandstone buttes nearby. The three formations look like a red fleet of ships. This area has great scenery, dinosaur tracks, fishing, boating, camping, or stop in and have a picnic. They found more than 200 bipedal tracks on the reservoir shoreline. Check them out by boat or hiking the trail. These tracks are more than 200 million years old. As you travel up to Red Fleet the rock formations are labeled as to which prehistoric period they come from. The Red Fleet Reservoir area is approximately 10 miles from Vernal, Utah.

I you will be headed our way in July there are several fun things to do. The Outlaw Trail Theater is July 1-3 at the Western Park Ampitheater. Of course there will be Independence Day celebrations. There will be a parade on Main Street in the morning, and fireworks in the evening at the Ashley Valley Park. Dippy the Dinosaur will be having a birthday celebration again this summer. This party celebrates the discovery of the Diplododus skeleton. This skeleton is on display in the museum.   I am sure Dippy will want to invite his dinosaur friends.     The Country Show Down is July 8th at the Western Park Ampitheater. The PRCA Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo will be held July 9-12. Each year there are activities to celebrate Pioneer Day. It is a state holiday to celebrate the arrival of the first pi...

The weather has been kind of cold and unusual out this way. Now it is warmer and it seems like summer is going to stay. A sure sign of summer in Vernal is seeing the beautiful planters and pots along Main Street filled with petunias. Varieties of purples and pinks, with a touch of white. Thought I would share this wonderful site!   Cobble Rock Park   Fountains at Cobble Rock Park   Petunias along the front of the park   Petunias along the Natural History Museum
