 What a great chance to meet and greet the community I live in. If you get a chance sign up to work in the polls. We actually had as many people in our district early or absentee vote as we had vote yesterday. We were prepared for long lines and lots of people. It was busy all day but the longest wait for any of our voters was 26 minutes because some people came 20 minutes early before the polls opened. We had around 60% of our two precincts vote. As I pondered the whole situation I realized that this was only 60% of registered voters. How many potential voters haven't even registered? How small a percentage of adults are actually registered to vote? Taylorsville Recreation Center is located at: 4948 South 2700 West, Taylorsville UT 84118 • 965-1732 Between the Taylorsville Library, and the Valley Park Softball Complex. The Recreation center is part of the Salt Lake County Recreation System. Included in the center is a Rock Climbing Wall, Batting cages, Fitness Room including, Free weights, Cardio Equipment, a full gymnasium equipped for basketball, and volleyball, a seasonal outdoor pool. Part of the Unified Fire Authority, the Taylorsville Fire Station is located at 5327 South 2700 West, just west of Taylorsville City Hall. The addition of this fire station increased the abliity to respond to fires in the Taylorville area immensley.   This is a post for information about the Taylorsville Fire Station. Taylorsville city hall was opened in April 30, 2003. There was certainly much opposition as to what kind of building woould be built and what purposes it would serve. Mayor Janice Auger worked tirelessly to get it built. Although it may not appear that way, the Taylorsville Real Estate Market is one of the most healthy markets in Utah. Taylorsville is one of the few areas where there have been more homes sold in the first half of 2008 (224) than the number of current listings on the market (182). This in big part has to do with the affordability factor in Taylorsville. The average price of Taylorsville MLS listings is $241,000, and median price is $210,000. In comparision, the average listing in Salt Lake County is priced at $405,051 and median price of $300,000. Utah is growing, people are still buying homes, they're just not usually buying the really big expensive homes right now. This is great news for Taylorsville sellers, if you price your home right, it should be sold by the end of the year.

We just sold a great little Condo in Taylorsville to a first time home buyer last month, and guess what the most compelling feature of the project was?  THE RESERVE ACCOUNT!!! Not the price, (although @ $ 126,000 it was pretty important.)  Not the interest rate.  Not the indoor pool or the Club house. Even though he appreciated all of those features of the town home, what tipped the scales was his review of the home owners association budget. Two things that we pointed out as we did our due diligence with him got his attention, and his approval. 1.  Moneys collected monthly that are to be used later for upkeep or replacement are not just earmarked, but are held in a special account (reserve account). 2.  Within the reserve account, a specific dollar amount is set aside for the various i...

Taylorsville Utah home values have fluctuated wildly over the last few months but year to-date they are up 7.1%. May 2007 values are 17% higher than May 2007. Taylorsville home values are strong and are expected to keep rising as first-time buyers keep looking for homes. The volume of home sales is declining slightly which is a sign of some softening in the market. Absorption rate for May was 4.7 months and a huge increase of 44.9% over Aprils 3.2 months. Taylorsville is still in a sellers market range but is on a trend towards a neutral market. Compare Taylorsvilles absorption rates to the rest of Salt Lake County.
