Those from up north may think that this is ‘much ado about nothing.’ In reality, the problem is that since we don’t get these cold spells in Texas often, an especially lengthy blast of cold – or repeated cold like we have had – can cause damage to your home. The pipes in your home are accustomed to above-freezing temperatures, with occasional dips below-freezing. This gives time for pipes to warm back up again.
