Zillows Dueling Digs Vote on favorite pools, kitchens etc... I was updating my Zillow profile today when I noticed Zillows Dueling Digs. It is an area on their site that allows you to vote or "duel" on pictures of kitchens , swiimming pools, home theatres and more! They flash various pictures and you pick the one you like best. I especially like the swimming pool pictures because I really want one!!! I sold my home with a swimming pool and I really miss it in the summer.  This pool was my favorite ! I was reading Yahoo news today and the headline "Companies yank the cord on residential white pages" caught my eye...I don't no why , except that maybe I have been wondering for awhile,  when will they ever quit putting these big telephone books on my front porch??  I pick them up and walk straight to the recycle bin!!  Finally they are going to stop printing these "musty fixtures of America's kitchen's"  per the article on Yahoo news.  I am laughing out loud here!!! Even though I am glad they are gone I relied on that book growing up. they are antiques now????  I remember looking in the "white pages" for a cute guys address or someone to prank call! 10 Steps for Maintaining Foundations Make sure that the soil around your foundation is graded so that the water flows away from the foundation. Water can be trapped by raised flower beds that the borders do not allow water to escape. Place soaker hoses around your foundation to keep the soil damp during dry periods. Keep the majority of the shrubs around our house under 3 feet tall they need less water.   Install root barriers to keep the larger trees from pulling water out from under the foundation. Use the downspout extensions or splash blocks on all down spouts. Make sure that all paved surfaces that border foundations slope away from your foundation.
