Richardson, TX's Corportate Challenge is almost upon us.  The deadline for the registration fee is July 31 at 5pm.  The Corporate Challenge is set up like the Olympics where you have different events on different days.  The Opening Ceremony will be on August 22 with events starting on August 23.  The Closing Ceremony (Party) will be on October 22.  Yes, this is a 2 month long challenge.  Is your company signed up? The City of Richardson is having a VIN Etching event on Thursday, September 18.  It will be held in the Cisco Systems parking lot (near Renner and Jupiter) from 9am until 2pm.  Did I mention this is FREE!!  The only thing the city is asking for is for each person to bring 2 canned goods.  The City of Richardson breaks records each and every year for their different canned food drives, and this will be no exception to add to those records.  Most dealerships would charged hundreds of dollars to etch your VIN in each and every window, but FREE is a great price.  The Etching will be provided by the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force. I've been bombarded by email with invitations to join Discount Real Estate Brokerages. So I began calling them. I quickly found out what I suspected all along....that it wasn't for me. Their key recruiting tool is no prospecting for the agent. Their virtual office targets buyers and sellers by offering up to 2% cash rebates for using one of their agents. The buyers would search for their homes via Internet, visit the neighborhoods, and schedule an appointment to view only the properties they're interested in.  This sounds strangely familiar.  Oh yeah, my clients have always done this.  The roles of the discount Agents are NOT the same of a Realtor.  The commission is adjusted accordingly, somewhere around a third less than the usual.  Apparently it's working for hundreds or thousands of... 07/12/2008

We have a NEW healthy grocery store option in Richardson, Texas Jay & I went shopping at the new Natural Grocer http://www.naturalgrocers.com/ at the corner of Coit & Campbell in Richardson last week. We found a clean organized store with great prices.  The prices we saw were lower than the other well known organic food store.  They carry all the brands you would expect from an organic food store. FREE Immunizations are available starting now.  These FREE immunizations are for any and all Richardson residents and Richardson ISD children.  So, if you don't live in Richardson but attend school here, you're allowed.  And if you're like me who lives in Richardson but feeds to Plano schools, you are still allowed. School starts on August 25 this year, so all shots need to be up to date.  You MUST call and schedule an appointment.  They will not accept walk-ins.  The clinic address is 820 W. Arapaho Rd and is adjacent to the Senior Center.  Their number is 972-744-4076 Richardson TX has been offering these FREE immunizations for years and it's a great program for those who cannot afford it on their own. 06/27/2008

The Annual 4th of July Celebration for the City of Richardson is actually held on July 4 this year.  There is stage entertainment that will start at 6:45pm.  The Richardson Community Band will perform at 8:45pm and the Fireworks will display around 9:45pm. You are allowed to bring outside food and drinks.  Also, don't forget chairs or blankets.  Breckinridge Park is located just South of Renner and Brand.  You may park at Renner and Shiloh to take the free shuttle over there.  I can usually see them from my front yard, but we might take Alyssa to see how she reacts to all the lights and colors up close. 06/27/2008
