For a small suburb just east of Austin, Manor, Texas has some really great restaurants to choose from.  Manor may not seem to have much yet in the way of chain stores and retail shopping, but if you venture off Highway 290 that passes through Manor, you will find a number of places to eat that offer fantastic food.  Most of these are independently owned and the food is so much better than you will find at the chain restaurants in the Austin area.  Here are my 5 favorite places to eat in Manor: 1.       Good Luck Grill Food - Burgers, fried everything (catfish, shrimp, chicken fried steak, steak fingers, chicken fingers, mushrooms, pickles, green tomatoes, zucchini, etc), sandwiches, and more My Favorite -Everything I've had here is great, but my favorite is the fried catfish and hushpup...

I've now lived in Manor, Texas for 3 years and when I tell people where I live, I often get a confused look in response and one of the following questions: "Where is Manor?" or "Isn't that really far out of town?" or "Oh, I think I've driven through there on the way to Houston".  No, it's not far out of town and yes, you probably have driven through it on your way to Houston.  I know Manor isn't that big yet (about 5,800 people), but it's growing fast and I think everyone that lives in the Austin area needs to know about Manor. Today was a good day.  I had phone duty from 10-12 this morning.  I picked up a potential buyer and just as I was about to leave at noon, another call came in.  The receptionist indicated that it was for me so I thought it was a random call.  Was I surprised.  It was someone who found me on Active Rain regarding my Short Sale success.  I got all the information necessary and we began talking via e-mail.  Midway through the afternoon,  the client realized I was answering via my blackberry and sent me her PIN.  For the rest of the day we talked PIN to PIN.  I will be listing her home tomorrow evening right after she gets home from work.  I already sent her my list of documents I need from her.  Tonight she sent a message that she will have everything ready for me by tomorrow evening.  Th...

Manor is the name of a small city east of Austin, and this small community has many noteworthy attractions. The city was settled in 1872 when it was named after its first postmaster, James Manor. Manor currently has an approximate population of 5,500, a figure which was derived from the number of utility service connections, and the city is twelve miles northeast of downtown Austin. Manor has an area of 1.1 square miles, and in the 2000 census, there were 405 households reported, including around 289 families. 365 of the households in Manor reported children under the age of 18 living in the home, and 47% of the households included married couples.
