Lakeway TX Private Marina? As long as I have lived in Lakeway (20+ years) I have heard rumors of a Lakeway TX Marina at the end of Hurst Creek Road. Since I live just off of Hurst Creek road, I have been always been interested in the subject.  I remember years ago, when plans for a Lakeway City Park were being developed, there was talk of a boat launch being part of the park.  All I could visualize was streams of public cars (non-Lakeway residents) driving along Hurst Creek Road to pay a daily fee and launch their boats in lake.  Yikes!  Not a pretty picture. Lake Travis High School Lakeway TX football team claimed their fourth 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in a row! HOW ABOUT THEM CAVS?!  Way to go Lake Traivs High School Lakeway TX! The Austin American Statesman wrote a fabulous article about the team, the game and LTISD. We have come a long way since my children attended Lake Travis High School Lakeway TX in the late 90's.  The team spirit was there, but the athleticism and size were not.  The school district was still quite small. The Lake Travis High School Football team is headed to the Texas State District 25-4A State Championship game in Dallas Texas to claim their FOURTH STRAIGHT VICTORY AS TEXAS STATE DISTRICT 25-4A CHAMPIONS.  This morning I was in my office at Moreland Properties and heard sirens and hollering.  We ran out the front door just in time to see the a caravan of large buses, police cars (lights going), SUVs, trucks, cars decorated to the hilt, honking their horns, and waiving their arms as they headed north to Dallas for the Lake Travis High School State Championship Football Game.  It was exciting to watch and made me proud to see the parade of players, students, parents and community, hooping-it-up to attend the game and cheer the Lake Travis High School Football Team to another victory.   L... 12/17/2010

Each year the City of Lakeway TX builds a Trail of Lights in the center of Lakeway. It is a spectacular display of holdiay lights with walking trails that weave through the magical show. A small scale version of the Zilker Park Trail of Lights (which was disconitued a few years ago), Lakeway has done a fabulous job of bringing the magic of the holdiay to the Lakeway residents. My favorite part of the Lakeway TX Trail of Lights is the tunnel of lights.  It is a light-show of blinking colors flashing over and around you as you wander through.  (Great photo spot - be sure and turn off your flash)  From there you weave through the toy story of displays discovering new details as you move along. I just received my Lakeway magazine which had a full page article on Rought Hollow Lakeway 2011. Rought Hollow Lakeway has just announced that it will begin consturction on Highland Village, Phase 1 - to the tune of $3.8 million, in Spring 2011.
