Two days ago I was able to turn my horses out on a beautiful pasture and investment property we own just outside of La Grange TX. I haven't been able to use it to graze my horses for a number of years due to a lease agreement we had, that went south with the tenant abusing the agreement and the land by over grazing it.  We had to terminate our relationship with that tenant and we have given the property time to rest and it is now back to being a robust pasture perfect for rotational grazing for my horses.  At  our home in Fayetteville  they spend 12 hours in the barn and 12 hours on pasture.  I took some video of them once we unloaded them to share how beautiful it is for them to stretch their legs on this amazing acreage we own.    This is a great opportunity for them to just be horses...

The Experimental Aircraft Associationhas a local chapter in  La-Grange, Fayette County, in Central Texas that has a monthly "fly-in" and fund raising bar-b-que.   The funds raised from  each of the bar-b-ques goes to the Young Eagles program which gives deserving young students and flying enthusiasts scholarships to continue their education.   Last month the weather was perfect and  there were over 40 planes that flew in, many experimental, some historic, and some acrobatic planes as well.  (Of course many locals know that if the weather is bad they can still drive over for a great meal and some socializing as rain or shine the bar-b- que goes on in the big hanger!) The next monthly fly in at the La Grange Airport is the first Saturday of the month.  You do not have to fly in to participate.  There is plenty of parking available and it is lots of fun to watch all of the planes coming and going.  Lunch is served cafeteria style and it is always very good.  Brisket, sausage, three kinds of salads, and  cookies!  The funds raised are used for educational scholarships.  Fly in, or drive in, and come enjoy some good barbecue and see the planes!

On The first Saturday of every month the Experimental Airplane Chapter (EEA Chapter 1347) group out at the La Grange Airport, LaGrange, Fayette County, Texas, just off Hwy 71 has a fund raising lunch.  They are raising money for scholarships for young flying enthusiasts (Young Eagles)  They ask for a $7 donation.  Lunch this last Saturday was terrific and consisted of brisket, sausage, two kinds of potato salad ( my favorite is the baked potato salad!) and cole slaw, cookies, and iced tea or water.  It is open to the public and you can fly or drive in.  Saturday over 45 planes flew in,  a Thunderbird car club drove in and displayed their beautiful cars, and two of the experimental pilots "opened the box" and got up in the air and did some amazing acrobatics.  You can eat a great lunch, ...
