So, I just listed a short sale in the Legends of Hutto, in Hutto, TX. Their lender is Bank of America, and we all know that is the most difficult and time consuming lender to deal with. We went live on the MLS today, and immediately, my seller received a call from a REALTOR friend of hers. The REALTOR claimed that my seller definitely listed with the RIGHT AGENT, and she coined me the "Austin, TX Short Sale Queen." I was flattered and happy that my seller feels good about her choice of going with me as her listing agent. In 1876, the town of Hutto was established when the International and Great Northern Railroad was built three miles north of Shiloh.A small farming community, Shiloh was near the crossroads of FM 135 and FM 139 on the north side of Brushy Creek. The McCutcheon-Shiloh Cemetery is all that remains of the once-thriving town.In 1848, the year of Williamson County’s founding, Nelson Morey and Josiah Taylor both opened stores inShiloh. There was a school and a church. Residents included the well-known Juvenal, Kuykendall, Stearns, Smalley, Swindoll and Wilbarger families. Texas has some great old buildings, frequently marginalized by the big, new shopping centers that seem to crop up everywhere. Hutto, just a little northeast of Austin, is no exception. The old downtown is just a few blocks, and just a few buildings. This one window was just too marvelous not to share. Don't you wonder: how many generations of business owners or children-of-patrons have peered out these windows? What did they see in the street - big SUVs, or Model-Ts?
Plans are in the works to transform Hutto-co-op into a municipal center. At the February 3rd City Council meeting, plans were announced to issues bonds this month for $630,000 for the full design of an intern city hall building and civic green. The city of Hutto will also seek proposals for private partners to help develop the center and the surrounding property this upcoming spring. The city of Hutto's finance director, Micha Grau, said a private developer's role is a necessary step in putting the plan into action. The new development will include a mixture of retail, residential, and office spaces. They may also construct civil buildings there. It will be located at the intersection of Hwy. 79 and Short Street, which is currently the site of the Hutto Co-op Gin and Hutto Grain Co-op...
Hutto, TX located near Austin and Round Rock may be a small town but it is a mighty town. Hutto is also a growing and thriving area with big plans and big aspirations. That concept has been bolstered by the Mayor and the unification of the City Council over the last 5/6 years. The Mayor was responsible for alot of the great things that are and have been happening there. But the Lord had bigger plans for the Mayor, David Begier. On Thursday, David Begier passed away due to complications from a surgery. Will this set Hutto back? No it won't but he will be deeply missed by his peers, friends and constituents. Mayor Pro-tem Debbie Holland will take the helm and I feel confident she will take the bull by the horns...Mayor Begier may you rest in peace.
