      The Happy Birthday Greyhound Adoption League of Texas took place on Saturday, April 20 at Doubletree Ranch Park in Highland Village, Texas. I was proud to be in attendance. What I saw was the beautiful connection between families and Greyhounds. Many owners do not stop with one Greyhound and there were plenty to choose from for those who were ready to make a commitment to adopt. One lady went to the extreme of adopting a Greyhound from Spain, and she managed to pay for her pet’s airfare and transportation. There are so many great events in my neighborhood, Castlewood, in Highland Village, Texas.  I'm not sure if it's the first sign of spring or the smile on my kid's faces sprinting to get those eggs but the annual Easter egg hunt is my favorite. Orange cones.  Two-lane traffic.  Vehicles trying to turn left to get their car washed at the Speedy Bee. Ah, construction.  Love it, don't ya?!  With progress comes months (or years!) of inconveniences like these.  But the good news is that it seems like this is going to be getting better soon! Be sure to make alternate plans March 11-22 if you normally travel on 407 at night.  TXDot will be paving portions of the road starting at 8 pm and ending at 5 am and they are advertising "major delays". I love my neighborhood.  We had no idea that when we moved to Castlewood in Highland Village, Texas that we would have such fun events to help us suburbanites have a little fun on Friday nights. If it involves wine and friends, my husband and I are usually in.  This Friday, March 1st at 7 pm is the always popular "Blind Wine Tasting" at the Castlewood Clubhouse.  Each couple brings a bottle of wine to share that will be wrapped up to look like a bum on the street's favorite treat.  Everyone will get a chance to taste and then vote for their favorite wine and the couple who brought the winning wine, gets a gift.   So, I can taste wine with friends and neighbors I haven't had the pleasure to get to know and walk home if necessary?  I'm in! 02/27/2013

One of the reasons I love Christmas Eve is because it's almost like "the calm before the storm". It's a chance to revel in the work you've put in decorating, shopping, wrapping and baking before the madness begins. Ho Ho Ho!  It's that time again!  There are so many great events in my neighborhood Castlewood in Highland Village, Texas.  Tomorrow, December 1, from 8:30-10:30 am at the clubhouse is Breakfast with Santa! I usually get my Christmas card pictures at this holiday kick-off.  Santa and Mrs. Claus are dressed to the nine's and the clubhouse is festive and beautifully decorated.  There's food, snacks, drinks and crafts to be made and our resident volunteers always do a wonderful job putting events together. Can we all agree that nothing is more important than our children's well-being?  This is my precious daughter Trinity on her way to see The Wiggles.  She's grown out of that car seat and will turn eight in March but she has two younger brothers that are still strapped into these bad boys.   After a series of odd, yet amusing, events, it turns out that the Highland Village Police Department will respond very quickly to a child locked in a car.   DID YOU KNOW: Those rubber mat seat protectors are not a good idea.  They can compromise the integrity of the car seat as it relates to the "connection" with the seat. Recently, some clients decided to put an offer in on a home and of course (as it seems to be in our market these days!), there was another offer.   Here we go.   Multiple offer situation.   We came in with minor changes to the offer but it needs some work and these are first-timers so they are being conservative with their hard-earned money. I remember like it was yesterday. The first time I used DocuSign was for a property that was on the market for less than 12 hours and already had the rumor of two offers coming in.   It was the 4th of July weekend 2009.  My non-contingent, first time homebuyer knew this house was THE ONE.  Before I went back to my office I told her "I can send this through for you to sign electronically".  Of course the first question was "Huh?"  followed by "Really?"   I firmly believe that the #1 reason my client got that house was because I had a completed offer to the listing agent less than two hours from when I showed it.  I believe that using DocuSign is like days of old before cell phones, DVR's and GPS...you don't know what your missing until you have used it.  I mean, could you imagine going b... 09/05/2012

I have never been a big fan of buyer's agent bonuses.  I will never encourage my clients to buy a home that isn't exactly what they want for an extra payday for me.  I don't know about you but I've seen bonuses ranging from gas cards to trips, restaurant gift cards and cash money.   The one I saw today takes the cake.  How about an $8 CASH bonus and an expired Arby's coupon?  Anyone?  Anyone? You know that school has started! I have joked that when all three of my kids are finally on the bus to school, I will run down my street naked. But until that day comes, this is your friendly reminder that in Highland Village along with most of Texas, school does start tomorrow!
