VOLUNTEERS IN PATROL (VIP)    Having as many "eyes and ears" is a key part of the solution to achieving a low crime rate.  One of way we achieve this is through an extension of our Police Auxiliary program called "Volunteers in Patrol" (VIP).  What do they do?Volunteers in Patrol (VIP) are members of the Police Auxiliary who undergo additional training so that they may assist on-duty police officers with their patrols of the community.VIP members are assigned to specific areas where crime has been reported and they report to on-duty police officers any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities.  VIP members may also take with them a hand-held radar unit once they have completed the necessary training program. This program is a force multiplier and creates additional police-related pres...

The City of Highland Village is experiencing very high flows into our sanitary sewer system due to the persistent rains and rising lake levels. The Public Works staff is encountering a number of homeswith sanitary sewer clean-outs that do not have a cap or where the cap is broken. Normally this is a moderate problem but now as the lake rises and covers these openings into our sewer system, it is a major problem. The city has lift stations that are pumping at capacity in some areas due to this problem. Please help in locating the problem clean-outs. If you see any on your property or surrounding properties, please contact (972) 317-2989. We are asking your assistance in locating these problem clean-outs. Please check your clean-out location and verify that the cap is on if it is visible....
