This will mark the 118th year Friendswood has celebrated Independence Day with community-wide activities.   Every year, the daylong celebration kicks off with a Grand Parade. This year's Grand Parade will start at 10 a.m. at the intersection of FM 518 and Heritage Drive. Sundays Are Movie Nights   My husband and I are movie people. We really love to watch movies. Now that all of our children are all grown and have lives of their own, we have more time to go to the movies. Now instead of taking our children we go with our friends. The last movie we went to see was Oblivion with Tom Cruise. I think it is a great movie about never giving up on love or what you think is the right thing to do about any situation. Sounds like Real Estate doesn't it!  I would say more but I want to avoid spoiling the movie for those who have not seen it. Friendswood Art In the Park Sidewalk Art I was able to attend the last day of Friendswood Art in The Park at Stevenson Park. It was really a hot day as tempatures rose to 80 degrees. My husband had a great time. There were many booths where one could purchase something to eat. There were many crafts booths that I really enjoyed! My favorites were the ceramics, woodwork and the jewelry! However the thing I totally enjoyed the most was the Sidewalk Art. I took some pictures for your enjoyment.
