Countdown to the Red River Rivalry.  The Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners are at the Cottonbowl during the State Fair of Texas at 2:30pm on this Saturday, October 6, 2007.Both teams are entering this game with losses from this past weekend.  They'll both have some frustrations to vent out.                                  Any thoughts on who is going to win this one?  I'm not sure I want to be home during the game since my Husband is still livid from the loss on Friday.  OU Fans, don't hesitate to state your opinion, however, for both Texas and OU fans, please keep it clean, and no attacking people and/or their integrity.  Your comments will be deleted if I deem it to be rude.

Wow, it's been a busy couple of weeks but I wanted to share with you our final project we completed as the Dallas Chapter of IAHSP (DIRC) the week of September 17th, 2007.             Carrying in loads of aluminum trays of noodles loaded with chicken, mountains of green salad and hot vegetables, fresh rolls by the hundreds along with multiple gallons of milk, orange juice and lemonade, and package after package of cookies for dessert, we arrived at the Austin Street Shelter within the deepest of the bowels of downtown Dallas.            Two hours before, our washing machine had frozen on it annual "won't run after it's filled itself to the brim with water" position.  That had been the last straw for Patty and me as we had tried to traverse through the one crisis after another weird day that was now to be followed by a full-moon.  The only thing we felt sure would be missing would be the witch flying past it in the night.            With five other members...

Today is the official opening of this year's Texas State Fair!The Fair will run through October 21.Something that they have been working on for the past few weeks is trying to get more of their vendors to use No Trans Fat Oil.  I mean, most everything at the fair is fried, so why not try to help some people who aren't going to help themselves by gorging everything they see.Personally, I do have a weakness for Funnel Cakes, which is basically just fried pancake batter, but they smell and taste so good... and I eat mine the traditional way with the Powered Sugar... no fruit topping for me!!There are many days where there are discounts so check out their website to see which day is which.
