The latest statistics for the Dalls real estate market show a decent improvement from last month. The number of sales jumped from 2241 to 2916. While sales usually increase from January to February we also saw an improvement when look at the year over year change. In January sales were down 30.12 year over year. In February we are down 24.59% compared to the same time last year. So while the market is still down its certainly an improvement. The months of inventory is at 6.3 which makes this still a buyer's market but its still considerably better than markets in California and Florida. I had an interesting experience recently.  My client made a serious offer to purchase a home listed by another agency.  The agent is also the broker and owner of the franchise office. We faxed the document and copies of the option and earnest money check on Friday evening. Saturday passed, no response.  Sunday, no response.  Tried to call the agent, no answer.  Emailed the agent and asked if she had gotten the contract. She responded that she had, that two other offers better than my client's had subsequently been received, her client had chosen one of them, and she had placed the listing in "pending" on MLS, inferring that that sufficed for notifying me of the failure of my client's contract. Legends of The Skies is this year's annual gala at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, Texas.  The guest speaker is former President George Herbert Walker Bush.  The gala is the primary fundraising event for the museum, allowing it to fullfill the mission of perserving and promoting aviation history. UPDATE:  So far nearly 400 people have read this post.  Not one has posted a recommendation of a good Dallas plumber.  I would think plumbing companies and their plumbers would find this a significant commentary about them and their business reputations. Friday evening, March 20th, water started running out from under our sink's cabinet and the dishwasher.  A quick check led me to believe that the waste water pipe inside the exterior wall had developed a major leak. Saturday morning I called three Dallas plumbers:  Casa View Plumbing, Pope Plumbing and John Rodriguez Plumbing.  I got an answering machine at Casa View, an answering service at Pope, and Rodriguez didn't answer his phone.  All had done previous work for us. Lake highlands real estate is some of the best real estate out there!  I really reccomend that anyone who is moving into the dallas area to check out lake highlands and what it has to offer!  It has many many features and historical landmarks within it.  It also boast a good sized lake in White rock lake.  White rock lake homes for sale are also a good choice if you are looking for something on the water.  However, the lake is not big enough for high powered boats or boat docks, but you can go sailing on it, etc. 03/30/2009
