After playing her first concert at age seven Ms. Luque studied with world renown Andrés Segovia. Tuesday evening Dallas dance lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy "Meadows Fall Dance Concert" in the Bob Hope Theatre on the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Campus. Highlights of the Meadows Fall Dance Concert will include: Joshua Peugh, a graduate of the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU, will open the evening with a contemporary dance set to music written by Dave Brubeck. Artist in residence at the Meadows School and noted choreographer, John Selya, will present a solo work choreographed for a solo female dancer to the music of "Ride My Arrow." "Dark Elegies'' will be set to Mahler's "Song Cycle Kindertotenlieder." Duke Ellington's Latin music will set the stage for "Zero Cool," a lively presentation inspired by dances from the 1960s. Calling all kids and kids at heart to the CASA Parade of Playhouses displayed at NorthPark Center. The creative playhouses are the culmination of unlimited imagination and lots of big hearts. Generous sponsors, designers, architects and builders donate the houses that will be raffled on Sunday, August 18, at 4:00 PM. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at NorthPark Center. Through July 27, the DeGolyer Library is hosting George Washington's personal copy of the Acts of Congress. This includes the U.S. Constitution, with George Washington's handwritten notes. What a great opportunity for people of all ages to view this historical exhibit. The Acts of Congress is part of the larger exhibit, Hail to the Chief: Presidential History in Word and Image, presented by the DeGolyer Library. Curators have gathered historical materials from many collections to create this exhibit that runs through October 4, 2013.
