New City Hall For Cedar Park?????Last month, the city approved a preliminary set of four bonds for transportation and park enhancement in Cedar Park.  The projects include a recreation center, parks and trails. The price tag for all this?  The well researched task force proposed a $79.9 million bond package, trying to keep the price tag under $80 million. However, the city council for Cedar Park finalized that price tag to $81.6 million, after evaluating the task force's report. The council will release the bond in four parts: roads, city hall, parks and public safety. WOW! how it has grown - Just 15 miuntes from downtown Austin.  A great place to live and raise a family.  Schools are great stats show student teacher ratio is 15 to 1.  Thats something that will make any parent happy.  The city has just pasted huge bond to repair and build new roads to help all the growth.  Prices in Cedar Park have gone up some over the past few years but still very affordable compared to the national average.  We have a nice mall that will make any teenage girl happy, and other shopping close by to support electronic shoppers, furniture, ect.  We are now getting a full service hospital and a Super Target.  We are excited to have so many new additions to the community.  Soccer is a huge sport in Cedar Park no matter the age.  We have a great flag football league, base...

Six Texas towns recently made CNN/Money's list of 100 "Best Places to Live" in the United States.Schertz ranked highest at 40th, while Hewitt was number 44, Keller was 50, Friendswood was 51, Mansfield was 83 and Grapevine was 97.The 2007 list focused on small towns that have populations between 7,500 and 50,000 and that offer the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a sense of community.                                                                                                            All this on the heels of Family Circle magazine naming our very own Cedar Park, , one of the best communities nationwide for families. Cedar Park is located about 25 miles northwest of Austin.Family Circle partnered with research firm On Board to ...

Family Circle magazine has named Cedar Park as one of the top 10 towns for families, combining big-city opportunities with a suburban lifestyle.  The town will be featured in the August 2007 issue of the magazine.  I'll be buying that one for sure!  It hit newstands Tuesday (7/10) so I'll need to go pick up a copy of it today to read the whole article.  Congratulations to the people of Cedar Park and their leaders for working hard to provide a great place to live for Central Texas families!!

For the past few years the Austin Ice Bats, Austin area's Ice Hockey team, has been aggressively trying to move to Cedar Park. For their first few years in business they were just renting downtown, then they have been renting in North Austin off I-35, but they want a permanent fixture, a place they can call home.In 2005 I really thought it was coming to fruition, however the developer missed permit filing a couple of times and then the lack of voter support in the form of a bond crushed the deal. Now apparently their serious. 3 contractors are vying for the job and according to the local news, it doesn't matter who the builder is the building will be open the fall.

- I was excited to see that the Avery Ranch Boulevard extension, connecting Parmer Lane west to Hwy. 183, opened this morning. Heading east from Parmer Lane, Avery Ranch Boulevard becomes O'Connor Boulevard just before Great Oaks Drive.  The road dead ends into R.M. 620.  The road provides an alterante route for those traveling east/west from parts of Round Rock to Cedar Park.
