Texas High School Graduation Rates Sets All-Time High

According to a New Release from the Community Relations Department Texas Graduation Rates are on the rise. In 2012 the graduation rates were 87.7% up 1.8% from 2011. This is the fifth straight year for rises in graduation rates. According to the online news magazine the Atlantic, High School Graduation Rate hits a 40-Year peak in the U.S. Texas ranks in the top nine states in the U.S. According to a Globe News the following information was stated. In Amarillo Independent School District, the graduation rate for the Class of 2012 Grade 9 cohort was 87.1, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points from the district’s Class of 2011.
