Little Boxes - They All Looked The Same - 2013 Business Theme Song Contest   When I reflect back on this last year, 2013, it seems like all my clients were the same type of people, trying to buy the same types of homes. They were all wanting to buy in subdivisions that all looked the same; with the same five products the home builders were selling. One of the new traditions I started a few years back was taking photos of the crazy socks we like to give each other! This year my grand baby girl Alexandria who is floating somewhere on some ocean with the rest of her military co-works was not able to attend. She did get to see the picture from the ship she is on. The Alvin Christmas Train at Victory Camp is fast becoming a favorite Christmas event! The train runs from December 6th-December 8th, Dec 12-15th, and Dec 19th-23rd from 6:30-10:00 pm (weather permitting). The cost is $8 per adult and $4 per child. There are over 300,000 lights on the property and even Big Als Pizza for those of you that would like to grab dinner before or after your ride on the Christmas train! There are two trains that run on tracks similar to those at the zoo. They take you through a winding Christmas wonderland with light displays and uplifting messages.  The Christmas Train At Victory Camp Living Stones Church in Alvin   It's that time of year again and the Victory Camp Christmas Train is open to the public at Living Stones Church in Alvin!   Follow this link to get a birds eye view of what is instore for visitors!   Every year Pastor Al Jandal and his church organize this amazing Christmas Train event. The church owns many acres with lots of fun things for kids and their families to participate in. Alvin P. Recreation was seen slinking around Alvin's Public-works Service Facility. He was caught on the building cameras. We realize something is a foot!   There were 33 homes sold in Alvin in the month of October. Ten of these listing were sold within a 31-day period.   The average sale price was $200,321. The square footage for these homes ranged from 816 sf to 2,913 sf. The lot sizes ranged from 5,258 sf; to 397,267 sf.   There were 19 homes with three bedrooms and 10 with four bedrooms; 2 had five bedrooms the remainder had two. The City of Alvin is just a hop, skip and a jump from where I live in Friendswood, Texas. There is always something interesting going on in Alvin, and this weekend we are in for a real treat.   Alvin will celebrate its history on Saturday, August 31, at the Alvin Depot Days Festival in National Oak Park and at the historic old train depot.   Alvinites are always putting on fun festivals, and the Depot Days Festival should not disappoint.   It has really been hot in our area and usually is in August and September. The public swimming pools are crowded and public swimming pools are rented out for the rest of the season. And just like the surrounding cities, the next best thing to do is to own your own home with a private in ground pool. Owning a home with a private pool allows you to experience the quite and private relaxation that a person sometimes needs at the pool side. Currently to have a pool installed it would cost about $35,000.00. This little girl experienced a police chase in her neighborhood. She actually saw the perpetrator running in and around her home. She was so concerned, and wanting to help she ran to get her pad and immediately sketched the perpetrator for the officers giving pursuit. The sketch was taken to the police department where it is posted along with all the other criminals being sot.      She gained the attention of the news media and when they came to interview her she gladly sketched their picture too!   07/28/2013

OLIVE GARDEN'S SOFT OPEN IN ALVIN   Olive Garden held it's soft open today to help train the new staff, from waiters to the cooks in the back. The building exterior was beautiful and there was plenty of parking. The interior of the building was clean, light and airy. It was not noisy like some of the other restaurants who have nothing built in to soften the noise level. The staff could not do enough to bring anything we wanted. Our friendly waitress, who shall remain nameless... told me she moved here from Chicago and was excited to work at the restaurant. There were many employees there, but I did not recognize anyone.
