  Addison is a dog-friendly place.  The town boasts two dog parks where dogs can run off-leash safely.  The smaller park, situated near the south end of Les Lacs Trail, is open from 5:00 am til 11:00 pm, while the newer park, accessible through the trail at the south end of Le Grande Dr., is open from 7:00 am to dusk.  This second park has separate areas for large dogs and small dogs.  Both parks have bench seating for the humans, pooper scooper stations, and doggie water fountains.  These dog parks are for Addison residents only!   Complying with the rules (below) for the dog parks is a condition of using the parks: Human Food & Dog Treats - are not allowed in the off leash area.  This can cause fights among dogs.  Consume or dispose of human food before entering.  Leave pet treats you... 05/02/2007

 Antiquing in Addison is over.  After 21 years, the Unlimited Limited Antique Mall closed the doors forever on February 28th. Once considered THE antique mall in North Dallas, the store succumbed to rising rents, competition from the Internet, and a general lack of interest by the buying public.Some of the dealers in this 200+ multi-vendor mall have moved on to other venues.  Others are retiring.  A few are placing their inventories in storage, waiting to see if the proverbial pendulum will soon swing back.  All spent considerable time packing, boxing and hauling the contents of their booths and showcases out of the building.  The commercial space occupied by the mall is now for lease.  Other tenants at the north end of the building include a furniture store and an office furniture stor... 03/01/2007

  If you are unfamiliar with the Town of Addison, here's a quick introduction.Addison sits at the northern (and slightly western) edge of Dallas, TX in Dallas County in an area once called Peters Colony. Settlement began in 1846 when Preston Witt built a house on White Rock Creek. But the area was not known as Addison until 1902.
