Addison Town Councilmember Todd Meier will be holding an Open House (no, not in the real estate sense) on Wednesday October 15th, 2008 frpm 6:30-8:00 pm at the Addison Conference Center - 15650 Addison Road.  Topics on the agenda include: 2008-2009 budget property taxes the proposed $58 million bond package police activity sustainabiltiy efforts There will be snacks, beer, wine and cold drinks.  If you are an Addison resident and plan to attend, RSVP to 972-400-7299 or nell.garcia@hotmail.com. Tuesday night, October 7th, the residents of the Midway Meadows subdivision in Addison Texas congregated at Dome park to celebrate National Night Out.  Thanks to Sam's Club, ice cream and water was available.  The Locked Out Comedy troupe performed.  Meatball sandwiches (yum!) were provided by Jane and Franceso Secchi, owners of Ferrari's restaurant. Addison police and firemen joined us, as well as Mayor Joe Chow and council members Greg Hirsch, Todd Meier and Roger Mellow.  Our city manager, police chief and fire chief were there, too. Oktoberfest is always a fun celebration in Addison TX.  Tons of food and music and entertainment for the entire family.  Yes, this started yesterday, but being a Thursday, I didn't announce it.  Friday and Saturday are usually the best days to go, and even though it was free on Thursday, admission is only $5. There are going to be many roads closed due to the high influx of traffic and such, so you might want to look at this page first to make sure you don't end up in circles trying to find your way around on closed roads. And that night should be Tuesday, October 7th.  National Night Out brings neighorhoods together to fight crime and increase communiity awareness through police-community partnerships. It is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. It's Oktoberfest time again in Addison!  The 2008 festivities (the 21st Annual Oktoberfest Celebration in Addison) kick off on Thursday, September 18 and run through Sunday, September 21.  There's lots to do and see this year.   Thursday, September 18th: German spelling bee championship. Register in the Schloss Addison tent from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. The registration table will be located on the right hand of the stage.
