Last week, I blogged about the New Years Day art walk in Addison, around the Addison Circle area. The art installations I covered in that post were part of the carefully planned route that our docent suggested we see. However, there were a few additional stops not on the original plan that we passed. Addison Addvocates are Appreciated. One of the many wonderful things about living in Addison, Texas, is not just the opportunity to volunteer in the town's various departments and at the renowned events, but to be appreciated for doing so. On Tuesday morning, I got a call asking me when I'd be home to receive a delivery package. What a pleasant surprise to get a box of cookies from Ron Whitehead, city manager; Stacey Love, volunteer coordinator; and Passion Hayes, HR department for the Town of Addison. Tiff's Treats is a local, Addison cookie delivery company and their product is delicious! Project Walk, an Addison Hidden Treasure. At the corner of Beltway Drive (east/west) and Beltway Drive (north/south) in Addison, Texas, just south and across from the Cantina Laredo restaurant, is a remarkably unassuming row of small offices. There's a new frozen yogurt shop in Addison, sweetFROG. It's self-serve, with 14 flavors to choose from, and you get to pick all the toppings you want from their selection of 70 options. The price is based on the weight. I've been in several times and I plan to go back. Often. I love frozen yogurt (froyo) shops that have a wet walnut topping!   Check out sweetFROG for yourself. Addison Texas Home Sales were up 6% in January 2013 over the same month last year with 70 homes selling this month! So far this year, overall home sales were at 70 homes sold, a 6% change from this time last year. New Addison Texas Real Estate listings changed -1% for the same period last year with 159 homes listed this month. PUD Muddle or mud puddle? Either way, it was a big mess. Shortly after my sellers signed the closing documents on Friday morning, the buyers agent and I congratulated ourselves on an easy, smooth transaction. Unfortunately, the celebration was a bit premature. The sellers were at the title company at their scheduled time, 2:30. At 3:30 I got  the phone call. Did I know anything about the PUD (Planned Unit Development) for the community? Um, no.  There is no home owners association for that subdivision. Could I check with the sellers to see if they ever received bills, or if there were any restricitions?  Sure, but the answers were still "no" and "no" after verification. For the year to date, overall home sales were at 1414 homes sold, a 29% change from last year. New Addison Texas Real Estate listings experienced a -14% change for the same period last year with 85 homes listed this month.
