Warriors Path is located in Kingsport Tennessee and has miles and miles of mountain bike/hiking trails.  I usually bike the trails, but because my 3day 60 mile Susan G. Komen walk is this upcoming week-end, I decided to  walk all 8 trails yesterday. Wow, that was a long 4 hour walk!  I would like to share with you about the trails.  The trails are rated from easy to moderate to hard.  ( a lot like skiing). The Bone Yard was a hard trail, lots of roots, stumps, hills and steep turns. All the trails connect to one another. The other trails include, White Tail (easy to medium-the longest trail) Magic Carpet (difficult) Paw Paw (easy)  Zip line (easy) Darwin's Revenge (difficult) Ridgetop (medium to hard-very steep) Rock City (hard-short , but very technical) It was a nice hike because it's...

Downtown Kingsport Tennessee is an older city and has so much character. The buildings are older, brick, historic looking.  There is an area called "Church Circle" where the whole "circle" surrounds a tree filled boulevard with several Churches standing proudly on the roads creating the circle. It's breathtaking.  The downtown Kingsport area has many shops, restaurants and everything is in walking distance.  It's a great walking city. Kingsport also has it's part of the city where you will find a few old broken down buildings.  I find that just as interesting as the lovely part of the city. Today I went to a game/comic book shop," DeWaynes World" that was sandwiched in between just one of these buildings.  I had to go grab my camera.

The snow came down last night, and kept coming through the day.  Schools are closed, banks are closed, what to do?  Well after squeezing a full work day into a half day, we bundled up and headed to Warriors Path Golf Courseto hit the sleding hills!  I was once again reminded of the power of proper layering.  Even though the temperature outdoors was 24/feeling like 7 (that's what the weather channel was saying) we were to the point of sweating.  The ride down, a blast, fun, exhilarating.  The walk back up...OMG.....   I love living in such a beautiful area with 4 seasons.  Our team can help you find the perfect home match for you in Northeast Tennessee.    Whoops, that will leave a mark!   Happy Monday Everyone!

MANY towns experience, at some time in their existence, a change of name. There are few, however, which have had such a wide variety of appellations to choose from as Kingsport. The Indians probably knew it by the synonym, in their dialect, of Peace Island, or Big Island. The early white explorers also referred to it as Peace Island, Big Island, and Long Island, and the his- toric, three-mile-long island in the Holston still bears the latter name. In the early days Kingsport also bore the name of Island Flats, and the Indian battle fought on the site of the present city has gone down in history by that name. About the same time the place was called Fort Robinson and Fort Patrick Henry for the forts, bearing successively these two names, which were located there. Be it understood, of cou...

Hey guys I jusT posted two great homes that are located in the heart of my home town and I know with the changes happening in the work place that some of you may have to be RELOCATED TO NEW AREAS for your jobs... If that is the case let me just tell you KINGSPORT, IS GREAT PLACE TO WORK AND LIVE whether you are raising or want to raise a family or would much rather have entertainment, good restaurants, and activities to do. SCHOOLS: Many of our local schools are 21st CENTURY CLASSROOMS Award-winning schools [and the fact that we are the only municipality in the United States to guarantee four semesters of college tuition to every graduating senior] are just one indication that Kingsport's primary focus is on nurturing our families, whether they're established or just beginning to grow. ...

I recently listed a very nice home that has been on the market, with 2 other Realtors, for the past couple of years.  At my listing appointment, I was very honest with the sellers and told them that if they want to sell, their home MUST be priced correctly for TODAYS market.  I convinced them to reduce the price and their home went under contract in 2 weeks!!!  Sometimes it is tough to be honest with our clients because we don't want to hurt their feelings, but, honesty truly is the best policy in business. My very first blog post was this listing I sold.  New Listing - 326 Bayberry Dr. Kingsport, TN 37663

As a agent I travel alot of places out-of-state and in state and I truly believe we have LOCALLY some of the most Award-winning schools. Inside the city of Kingsport you can clearly see that the FOCUS remains on NURTURING OUR FAMILIES.  Kingsport seems to have a strong goal-oriented team that strives on establishing the younger minds and helping the older mind advance and grow. A couple of weeks ago I was reading an article written by someone whom I think keeps the most updated on recent news about the Tri-cities especially Kingsport and that is Mr. Fleming. He mention something stating some data that I thought you may like to know if you are considering this area for your new home.  Kingsport is ranked 14th in the country for the second quarter running for appreciation in home values and for the past 12 months, housing prices are up 3.93 percent, with a five-year appreciation of 32.41 percent. 2008 3rd quarter endings report: September 30, housing prices in Kingsport were up .69 percent, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE - My Hometown With permission from my friend Jeff Fleming, Assistant City Manager for Development in Kingsport, TN, I'm posting a wonderful video that really "tells the story" of my hometown, Kingsport, TN.  Kingsport is a wonderful small southern city where people know and care about each other and truly exhibit Tennessee's "Volunteer State" motto each and every day -- where people go to football games on Friday nights, church on Sunday mornings, and where they work hard during the week and volunteer with all kinds of community organizations and student booster groups throughout the year to make their community a better place.    Enjoy! Well, here goes.  This is my first post to Active Rain. FABULOUS FALL IN NORTHEAST, TN - Each year at this time, I'm reminded of one of the reasons my husband and I moved our young family here 13+ years ago -- the beauty of the area and 4 true seasons.  And, my favorite season is here -- autumn. Just in the last few days, I've felt that familiar crispness in the air that signals that fall weather is just around the corner.  Soon, the green leaves of summer will begin their change to fall's orange and gold.  And, then they'll float down from the trees to reveal the fabulous mountain views found here in northeast TN.  In fall, you can see God's breathtaking handiwork for miles and miles. FALL MEANS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL AND A TRUE SENSE OF "COMMUNITY" - Autumn in Kingsport means high schoo...
