I have put together a chart on how many homes are being shown to buyers by Realtors. These numbers are broken down in price ranges for Rock Hill, SC. This tells you exactly how many buyers were looking for homes from August 1, 2008 to September 1, 2008 in Rock Hill, SC. This does not tell you how many homes are on the market in Rock Hill, SC, JUST how many buyers there are.     Price Analysis   Price Range Number Of Showings For This Report% At Price Level MonthlyAvg WeeklyAvg ShowingsPer Listing     < $20,000   1     0.1     1.0     0.2     1.0       $20001 To $40000   21     1.3     20.0     4.6     2.6       $40001 To $60000   38     2.3     36.1     8.3     1.7       $60001 To $80000   145     8.9     137.8     31.7     3.3       $80001 To $100000   145     8.9     137.8     31.7   ...

One of my all time favorite places to eat would be the White Horse at 1022 Camden Avenue, just off of Cherry Road in Rock Hill, SC 29732. I was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC and of all the places I have eaten, I never get tired of the White Horse. They were located on Cherry Road until about 6 to 8 years ago...I can't remember. The first location was in an old house that had been turned into the White Horse, I really loved that place. I started eating there when I was in high school back in the early 80's and the atmosphere was great. The new location is a new building and they moved a lot of the furnishings, stained glass and artwork from the old place which gave it that familiar feel. It is a beautiful building and they did a great job but I miss the old place...except the parking....

One of the neat thing about Rock Hill is that we have many parks to choose from.  Did you know that the city maintains 29 parks within city limits?  But there are several outside city limits too.  River Park has educational nature trails winding along the Catawba River.  Nearly two miles of trails, including handicapped accessible trils, wander through the park and along the scenic river.  Huckle Grove is an historic tree park located in downtown Rock Hill.  It offers visitor's a look into our past.  It includes a walking trail, benches and plenty of perennials & annuals.  Glencairn Garden is a lovely botanical garden with fountains, bridges, grassy areas, tress, flowers, and walking paths.  The peak bloom period runs from the last week of March to the middle of April.  Ebenezer Park is...

I read in the news this morning that the Rock Hill High Bearcat broke a Jamboree record Saturday night after a 34-0 victory over Weddington, NC.   I had to write to say - "Way to go Bearcats"!!! The Bearcats' 34 points were the most posted in the history of the Jamboree, surpassing the 29 points scored by Lewisville in 1989. My husband and I are both Rock Hill High graduates and my husband was the Quarterback for the Bearcats thru high school, so we like to keep up with how the Bearcats do each year.  I hope the Bearcats have an awesome season!  GO BEARCATS!!!

My husband and I took our 9 month old lab, Boo, to the lake today.  This was her first trip out in the boat.  We have two ponds on the farm where we live, so we already knew she loved the water.  We found a sand bar that was about 1 to 2 feet deep and we able to walk around with her and let her fetch bumpers.  I think she would have retrieved them all day if I were able to throw them that long.  My husband and I tired out way before she did.  We can't wait to take her back!  I'm ready to go again next weekend!

I talked about the Rock Hill SC Come See Me Festival in my recent post, but I neglected to mention that the Doo Dah event is back as part of the annual parade.  Rock Hill neighborhoods use humor and creativity to out do other neighborhoods.  The rolling brigade of trash rollout bins is always a favorite.  I do not believe Rock Hill realtors are a creative bunch, as I have not been invited to march or show off our talents.  Too bad-I am sure that we could do a great job poking fun at our business partners.  Maybe it was the $10 entrance fee this year.

Spring has finally sprung, and the Come See Me banners are up all over Rock Hill.  The annual festival began some 40ish years ago when our then major, John Hardin and his friend Ick Albright thought it would be 'fine' to show off the Glencarin Garden in Rock Hill.  Well, as years have gone by, the festival has grown.  It now lasts two weeks and some of my favorite events are:  Beach Bash - you local folks know that beach in this case means Shag, and Shag means great music and dancing.  Beach music is great, is NOT the Beach Boys, and the Shag is the state dance. 4/18 Gourmet Gardens - well, gourmet may be a bit of a stretch, but this event offers vendors the opportunity to sell their specialties.  Look for funnel cakes and other delicacies. 4/19 and 4/20 Moolight Jazz and Blues-this lak...

Rock Hill continues growth along the Herlong and Celanese corridors with another shopping center going up in the months to come. Herschel Fogelman of SCRE Properties hope to get the new Shoppes at Huntington open by Spring of 2009. The center will be mainly composed of small businesses that will own their space--though some units will be for lease. Folgelman is looking to get a higher-end restaurant, coffee shop, wine shop and similar venues to invest in the center as a response to Rock Hill's growing interest in upscale shops and eateries.

We were given an article about the market from The (Columbia) State Newspaper and wanted to share a summary. The columbia area had its first decline in home sales since 2000 with a 2.4% drop last year. The Rock Hill area had an 8% increase in home sales and a 1% increase in the median sales price to $161,000.The market has definately changed, however it seems to be a hit and miss for specific areas.
