Greenville SC is one of the fastest growing  cities in the upstate of SC. Residents of the upstate are friendly and caring and want to be a good neighbor.  It is really nice to be out shopping and still here thank you and yes sir , it feels good to walk down the street and be meet with a smile and respect! .  Greenville  is growing but in a smart way.  Check out Main Street,  It is one of the pretties cities I have seen.  Everything is fresh and green and open.  The city has put a lot of time and effort in making Greenvile a great place to live.  The new West End offers the Reedy River park and ball field.  There are tons of great places to eat and shop.  You can get lost for hours in the shops on main street.  The economy is growing and new business continues to grow.  The housing slum...

I recently posted a Blog on Campbell's Covered Bridge and mentioned that there was a lot of history in Greer, SC including some very old mills that are in danger of being reclamed by nature. I've included some amazing photos below of a grist mill that is about two miles from the covered bridge.   Greenville South Carolina Greenville SC Real Estate

The 3,400-square-foot Cliffs Cottage at Furman University, a Southern Living Showcase home, opened in June for public tours to educate about living stylish but also eco-friendly. It was built as a model of environmentally responsible design, sustainable building techniques and materials, and energy-saving systems. From solar-panel systems to engineered wood, Bamboo flooring, stocked with energy-efficient appliances and even capable of generating power rather than draining it, to the insulated windows, this residential home has all the latest technological innovations in sustainable living. The commitment to sustainability has also been applied to the landscaping, the gardens, the rainwater collection systems, driveway and walkways surrounding the home. The Upstate Shakespeare Festival is presenting a contemporary incarnation of Moliere's The Miser. And IT"S FREE!! The main character is a stingy French scrooge name Monsieur Harpagon, and will be played by a woman acting as a man. Should be pretty fun to watch. Anyway this French man is trying to marry off his children for money instead of love. They play is about the conspiring and conniving to get this done. When? July 10-13, 17-20, 24-27 July 31 - Aug 3. Time? 7pm Where? Falls Park Downtown Greenville's West End (601 S. Main Street) Need more info? www.upstateshakespearefestival.org I hope you check this one out! But go early and bring those blankets and lawn chairs. Seating is first come first serve and ground only.

Greenville is setting forth to go green. No really go green. We are getting green bike lanes in Greenville to improve biker safety. It won't be until the infrastructure is complete though. So we are waiting on wider bike lanes, more visible signage and bike rakes, then you will see the green lines hit the pavement. We will be joining so major US cities that already have these with improved cyclist safety. Those cities include major metropolitan areas such as: Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington and New York City. So dust off those bikes and get ready to hope on 2 wheels in the Greenville! Happy peddling!

I am taking my 14 year old nephew to his first concert today. My husband and I are looking forward to the concert more then he is I think. We are getting to see Montley Crue, Sixx AM, Trapt, Popa Roach and Buckcherry. It is going to be a 5 plus hours concert. This is his birthday present. I really feel bad that he didn't get to collect it in March, but I think it will be worth the wait for him! I remember my first concert and the excitement to get to see a live band. It was Hand Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt and some female artist. (I don't think she made it because I have tried for 15 years to remember who she was and can't. I also don't remember anything she sang) There will be a follow-up post to this one just to tell you how much fun we had. So what was your first conc...

This is a great honor to be number 4 on the list of America's Top 100 Places to Live. The list is compiled by  statistics and feedback of the people who live, work & play in these communities. So first a city has to be nominated. Then the website looks are info regarding education, employment, economy, crime, parks, recreation and housing are reviewed, rated & judged by the editorial team. There is extra effort put into the top 10 because they are considered to be the top 10 places in the US to live. Little old Greenville made the list coming in at number 4! Check out the list to see if your city made the list! BTW Congrads to Charlotte, NC it was #1, San Antonio, TX was #2 and Chattanooga, TN was #3.

Tonight is the end. It's the final act.  The final curtain.  The applause will die down, and it will all be over. Literally! Yes, tonight is my final performance for Fiddler on the Roof at the Greenville Little Theatre, and I have mixed emotions.  On one hand, it's going to be great getting my evenings and weekends back.  On the other, I have had a BLAST!  This has been the BEST show I've ever been lucky enough to be a part of, and I know that I won't forget it easily. The friendships I have created and the moments that have occurred are awesome, and it will be a while before I find something that I enjoy as much as this.  I hope to keep in touch with all of my new friends, and perhaps even do another show with some of them if I can go for a fifth play. The curtain lowers, but perhaps i...
