A large explosion of growth will take place outside of the I-526 boundary. This area of growth will create a new population center in the Moncks Corner/ Summerville/ Goose Creek /Jedburg area, which in the near future, is projected to have over 100,000 homes.One of the areas most talked about developments is Carnes Crossroads. In January of 2006, The Daniel Island Company acquired a 2,300-acre tract of land in Goose Creek that includes the Carnes Crossroads intersection and began developing a master plan for a mixed-use community for this growing area of Berkeley County.
