If your neighborhood could talk what would it say? Would it be able to help sell itself? Speaking with a new first time home buyer I wanted to pick their brain and find out what experiences they had when searching for a home and what sorts of things would have made their experience better. Crescent Communities is returning to the residential development market with a 650-home project overlooking the Catawba River in Fort Mill. The master-planned community would be built on 556 acres on the west side of Interstate 77 and off Sutton Road. It’s adjacent to the site where Carolinas Hearth Care System hopes to build its Fort Mill hospital. “It’s the last frontier for home building in York County,” says Keith Glenn, senior vice president of  Crescent's residential division. “This property has a rich history and beautiful topography with its river views, forests and quarry, and we intend to preserve its character.” There may be room for multifamily residents and perhaps even commercial and medical office space if the planned hospital becomes a reality. As summer comes to a close and the fall begins, it is exciting to reflect on how great the real estate market in Fort Mill has been over the past 12 months.  Signs of improvement are abundant and both buyer and seller reluctance is not as evident as in recent years.   According to the Carolina Multiple Listing Service, there has been a 35% increase in closed single family homes within Fort Mill year over year and days on market has decreased by 18 which is a significant change for the market. It’s almost time to show our patriotism and celebrate the birth of our great nation and there are multiple ways to do so this year in the Fort Mill area with fireworks galore, parades and the quintessential American game, baseball.   Fourth of July Festivities 1. Cheer on the Charlotte Knights as they take on the Gwinnett Braves at Knights Castle in Fort Mill. Gates open at 5pm, game starts at 7:15pm, and the Wbt Skyshow follows the game. This is billed as the largest Fourth of July fireworks display in the southeast and the game sells out each year so get your tickets early. Online tickets can be purchased here.
