Ashford on the Water is a Fort Mill, SC Neighborhood located off of Pleasant Rd. It is just a short distance from Gold Hill Rd and I-77. The neighborhood contains elegant, upscale homes, many of them full brick. A good number of the homes back up to one of two large ponds located in the neighborhood. As a Realtor, I am often asked if the real estate market in Fort Mill is showing signs of recovery. While this is diffiicult question to answer with a hard yes or no, I am assured that there are signs of improvement and positive growth all around. In reviewing the Carolina Multiple Listing Service data in Fort Mill, the 2011 real estate year showed an 11% increase in homes closed over 2010. The Humane Society of York County is a local, nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter located on RegentParkway just across from the old PTL property. Volunteering as a dog walker is something I did fairly regularly last summer and is something I’ve been meaning to add back into my weekly schedule. My son had expressed an interest in volunteering at the HSYC so together we attended the April volunteer orientation. The HSYC offers a volunteer orientation the first Saturday of every month and attendance at the orientation is required before you can volunteer. They welcome kids volunteering, but they are limited in their volunteer duties.
