I have been a resident in the village of Lonsdale, a historic district in townof Lincoln, Providence County and Plantations, Rhode Island, United States, since 1972.  John and I wanted a neighborhood that had children and a great school system, since I was teaching and knew the best areas I did not want to buy a home in Pawtucket or East Providence at that time. It became the village of Lonsdale that was affordable and had a elementary school, Lonsdale Elementary (K-6) in walking distance without crossing any main roads. This section of Lonsdale abutts Cumberland, Central Falls and Pawtucket and is near routes 146, 122, 123 116 and 95.  We are in close proximity to Providence, about 12 miles. Forty successful years of marriage is no easy achievement. **UPDATE** RESULTS OF TODAY'S  10TH ANNUAL RHODY 5k RACE It was a scorcher for running today, the temperature rose to the 80's, a few people were affected and dropped out of the race in the first couple of miles. A  way of attracting motorists, while they are travelling the highways, to a diner, coffee shop, or roadside attraction was to build the building in an unusual shape, especially the shape of the things sold there. "Mimic" Mimetic architecture became a trend, in the 1930's but in RHODE ISLAND we had ours built in 1807. Many roadside coffee shops were built in the shape of giant coffee pots; hot dog stands were built in the shape of giant hot dogs; and fruit stands were built in the shape of oranges or other fruit or a large milkcan as was the structure built in 1807 at the junction of 146 and 295.
