  Unexpected meeting for the first time on February 11, 1967 These 2 photos were taken at my Parents 25th Anniversary December 6, 1967 I was only 23 and John was 28                                                                                                                                                  My special memory fell on the date , February 11, 1967It was the night that I met a most wonderful young man who later became my dear husband of 42 years this coming June 28th, 2011. Our first heavy snow storm Sunday, 12-26-10 "White AFTER Christmas" It started to gradually accumulate late Sunday morning and by noon the manager of the Big Flea Superstore where I have my Avon Boutique announced that due to the inclement weather the market would be closing at 2pm instead of 5 so everyone could safely make it home.  Tree covered branches in our yard. BEAUTIFUL ! On Sunday, the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS, December 26th,2010 we got our first heavy snowstorm. It was so beautiful with its pristine fresh pure whiteness and the tree covered branches.                                SHIVER MY TIMBER One of my favorite writers, Robert Louis Stevenson, celebrated his birthday yesterday, November 13th. If he were alive today he would be 160 years old. He wrote the classic that I loved and so did my fifth graders, "Treasure Island." This Scottish author was also known for writing   "Kidnapped."   Stevenson was 30 years old when he started to write Treasure Island and this was his first success as a novelist. Two years before writing Treasure Island he had crossed the Atlantic Ocean. which came him the inspiration and descriptive details he would use in his writing.  Twenty-seven months after the birth of our first born son,John Michael, along came his sibling and our second, son, Mark Alan.It was on this special day, Saturday, NOVEMBER 10, 1973.  I was going to Rhode Island College, working on my Masters in Education. I actually carried this child to receive my degree on June 10, 1973 . It was Friday, November 9th about 5:30pm and I was getting sharp pangs. I felt I should check it out and headed to St Joseph's Hospital in Providence. I was admitted because they felt I was ready to deliver as they timed me. I was prepped and went to the delivery room at 7:30pm and left the delivery room at 8pm with no child. I was told that the activity has ceased and it was as if the baby went to sleep. We rescued and adopted Buddy on April 15th, 2004 when he was 13 months old from the animal shelter in East Providence, RI. We were told that he had been badly abused and needed special handling. We had difficulty getting his love and trust in the beginning, but after returning him back to the shelter in 48 hours and giving our second donation, we once again adopted Buddy and that  was 5 years ago. With great Patience, Persistence, Love, Loyalty, Trust and a week of training, Buddy has  become a loving addition to our family.
