Return of Snowy Owl to RI Coast   It is exciting to see the birds in winter and the return of the Snowy Owl in its beautiful form to the Rhode Island coast.  Out and about taking pictures by Ninigret in Charlestown, this snowy owl had presence.  The owls come down from the frozen north of the Arctic regions I am told.   This one looks thoughtful as it waits for its prey to surface on this less than snow day along the RI real estate coastal shores.  They are busy solitary creatures that hunt both day and night.  It is just a huge bonus today to have seen one other than on the Nature channel.  My friend had a telephoto lens so we were lucky to get this picture.   There must be good food sources for them here and this owl picked a beautiful Charlestown RI area to search and stay in.  Ninig... 01/19/2015
