Pray for Mexico, Pray for Puerto Rico, Pray for the World  By San Jose REALTOR Michelle Carr CroweOnce Hurricane Irma tore through the Caribbean and Florida, people barely caught a breath before a large earthquake hit Mexico and Hurricane Maria ravaged the Caribbean, especially Puerto Rico. While Irma and Mexico's earthquake made front page news, little has been reported on the devastation in Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory. Power is out, cell phone service is sporadic at best and ruination abounds. A family friend lost every material thing-except herself and her dog.Please...pray for all of the people suffering, and help as God leads you.Thank you for reading "Pray for Mexico, Pray for Puerto Rico, Pray for the World".

I think all people on some level want to be successful.  I really do.  Yet few people ever take the time to really define what success means to them.  They know what it does NOT feel like, in other words, they know they are not where they WANT to be, but ask them exactly what success means to them and it takes most people aback.Yet you can not get to where you want to go if you do not clearly define where you want to go.  And although this is plainly obvious, somehow we miss the part of sitting down and writing out clearly what success looks like.  So as we hit the onset of the 4th quarter, what better time then now to sit down, get by ourselves somewhere and write down where we want to go.  It starts with a mission statement.  Why are you here?  What is the purpose of your job, your li...

It amazes me how many people fight to get business in the door and yet how few people do ANYTHING to get people who have already used them to refer people to them. The most anyone does is ask that pat, “If you hear of anyone needing ____ service, let me know!” To which the happy client always says, “I Will” but they never do.Came across this article that I thought captures it real well. It is called, “The Art of Referrals” by Paul Pastore. I hope you enjoy!“Recently, I had my home painted. The painter did a great job. The price was very reasonable. The crew amazed me at how fast they completed the job. Do you think I will write them a letter of recommendation? Do you feel I will refer business to them? I will not. Let me tell you why.A few months ago the painter rang my doorbell because...

MS Dewey 136 Winter Break 2013/ Tropical Rainforest (El Yunque) Puerto Rico   Every year, my husband, who heads Middle School Dewey 136 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, takes a group of extra-lucky students and a handful of teachers on an expense-paid trip to a historic, fun-filled and educational locale for the purpose of furthering their studies. Check out this year's great pics on our trip blog! The kids work hard to earn to right to go and are rewarded handsomely. I don't usually get to tag along, but this year my daughter and I joined the gang. Of course, we paid our own way, but we also acted as guardians during this 4-day sightseeing adventure. Although it was a working vacation, it was also still a memorable experience. Puerto Rico is beautiful, tropical and rich in culture. Here we ar...

On a recent trip to Puerto Rico (ok, tiny white lie, I'm still here!) we were thrilled to discover we had a room overlooking a private preserve...which was on the sunset side of the resort, and therefore, offered more afternoon sun. We had noticed the home made fence line, as though no one was to go past it, which seemed interesting, and the iguanas, some of which can be 4 feet long...so we were totally digging it.. And, then, at 11am this morning, we discovered, when the resort does their iguana feeding tourist attraction, it's right outside our balcony, which is fine as we got an excellent view:

If you have the mood for an magical journey to one of the most historic and oldest settlements in the country of Puerto Rico, then, where that you should not forget to see is the Old San Juan.  The first settlement was founded in 1508 and was named as Caparra by the founder Juan Ponce de Leon. Caparra ruins were then in the moniker of Pueblo Viejo. Annually after, the settlement got deserted, and ended up being moved to a site called Puerto Rico during that time. After some years, the authorities added the name San Juan, making the settlement being known formally as San Juan Bautista de Puerto Rico. Prior to the 19th century, the east side of Old San Juan wasn't yet inhabited very much. In fact, in the area called Puerta de Tierra, there are only 168 residents moving into the place.  T...

PUERTO RICO ~ A GORGEOUS PLACE TO VISIT! If you are looking for a great place to visit, give Puerto Rico a consideration.  Not only is it a fabulous Caribbean destination, the rich history, rain forest, coral reef and resorts are something to consider. There were so many things to do for the adventurous types and of course a lot of beach time should that be your vacation of choice. I would go back in a minute.  However, until your next vacation, call me if you are interested in any Woodlands Real Estate or Houston area real estate!

SUNDAY BLESSINGS! I was fortunate enough to visit beautiful Puerto Rico a few weeks ago.  What a gorgeous place to visit.  I was able to tour the most beautiful church which happens to be one of the oldest Churches in all of the America's. Here are some pictures to enjoy.  The details are outstanding and the church left me in awe!

REFLECTIONS! I am so missing this view of gorgeous Puerto Rico!  If you are looking for a great vacation destination, consider this jewel in the Caribbean. Old San Juan, the Rain Forest, Palimino Island just to name a few of the fantastic things to do here! The weather was perfect and it was the best place to unwind and kick back. As you can see, my view was spectacular! The funniest thing that happened to me was as I was walking with yes TWO frozen drinks, as the wind caught my big, floppy hat my hand instinctively reached for the hat thereby dumping the frozen concoction down my back. Had to laugh at myself all week long!  Where are you going to relax and kick back?
