Today, I have been thinking about what I am grateful for. There are so many things to be thankful for. Speaking to so many people in the last several weeks, I must say one of the things was my childhood. Life is complicated for children growing up.  We were growing up in a time when your social life was social. Not the Social Network outdoor social. You played with other children. The  Xboxes, iPads, or iPhones did not exist.  I lived in the city. We played in the driveways after school and after dinner. We played ball, hopscotch, and hoola hoops. We sang songs on the corners and went to dances. I am grateful for my little friend Cleo she sits at my desk and watches me as get my work done. I had to clear off a special spot for her as her favorite spot was sitting on top of my laptop. Cleo is a Siamese cat with beautiful blue that eyes speak to me as I sit and type away at the keyboard. When the phone rings and I start to have a conversation she jumps onto my lap and often startles me as she makes herself comfortable curling up for attentionThere are also times I feel a tap on my shoulder it is Cleo letting me know it is time for me to take a break and give her a treat. After all, she has been patient all day. When the phone rings and you see the number does not need to be answered she sits by the phone and it sounds like she is meowing "hello". The residents of Delaire Landing had a wonderful summer enjoying the pool, but as the season comes to an end, it's time to bid farewell. To celebrate the end of the season, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for a delicious potluck. The spread was impressive, with a variety of mouth-watering salads, main courses, and desserts. The weather was perfect, and some even stayed in the pool after dinner, singing and swimming until it closed. While they will miss the summer of 2023, the residents are already looking forward to the summer of 2024.
