Main Line PA Today Real Estate ~ Photo Friday Gardening Around The Main Line and Chester County Pennsylvania. Our Photo Friday selection is real estate related in spirit. I love Sunflowers. Every year I plant some seeds in the early Spring and then watch in amazement as the Sunflowers reach for the sky, from a small beginning to a glorious finish in the Fall. Reminds me of the adage,  “mighty oaks from little acorns grow”.  Sunflowers give us a glimpse of beauty, drama AND usefulness. Welcome to nature’s banquet table in the Fall when Sunflowers go to seed. The edible Sunflower variety is what you want. I like Park Seeds. They’ll send you a nice catalog in late Winter for Spring gardening dreams.  Main Line Gardens on Paoli Pike in Malvern is one of my favorite Garden Centers on the Mai...

Wegman’s and Realtors - It’s All About The Service Wegmans. What’s a Wegman’s? This is what I love about real estate. You’re always just one phone call away from working with a great client. It was a slow day in early Spring. Late in the afternoon. I was giving in to a touch of Spring Fever and thinking about walking Daisy. The phone rang, “Hey Judy, I’ve been on your website for about 6 months. Great information. Listen, I might have to relocate to Philadelphia for my job, BUT I’ll only move if I can be close to Wegman’s.. ….Uh, me “What’s a Wegman’s?. I was a little smoother than that, but not much. So I “Googled”, which is what I’ve learned to do when I need to know something. Guess what? Right here in Downingtown, there’s a fabulous Wegman’s. Been there many times since. Love it! Yo...

It's time for another chapter of Adventures in Home Showings.  My first post, Adventures in Home Showings  was my beginning of looking at houses in and around the Chester County, Pennsylvania area. These were from a little while ago, my client had the pictures in her camera :)  Both incidents happened the SAME DAY with the same clients. It's a little hard to make out, but this stone is in the bed between the house and garage.BRANDYAKASpunky DoodlesFeb 9 1990Mar 12 2005Bless her! And I'm sure the owners have some cherished memories. I'm not so sure however, that this is good staging advice.  My clients were affected. "Do the remains stay?"  The Mom in me (and animal lover) can't be stopped. We hit (NO, bad word usage!) came across a Road Block. The next house on the list there was a black...

The cup is half full, we need to stop looking at this market as bad as the media is portraying it to be.  Interest rates are still at an all time low, there are a great selection of homes to choose from, and the playing field is finally even between buyer and seller.  With days on market increasing, it makes negotiating fun again.  Whether is be a lower price, seller assistance, flexible terms, in the end buyers and sellers tend to come to the settlement table happy.  This is also a great time for first time home-buyers to really capitalize with what's going on in the market.  They can get into a home with very little out-of-pocket money.  They can actually "think" about a home and compare it to other ones they like.  Buying is an emotional process and with how the market has been the p...

Growing up on the Main Line, and attending Lower Merion, Malvern was always known as that borough at the end of the line!  Malvern is a great borough, an area with many great places to eat like The Flying Pig.Compared to Lower Merion, Malvern is a steal, but if you want to buy, keep a sharp eye out.  There aren't as many homes for sale as in the LM Township area.  A total of only 22 homes sold in the first half of 2007, with the average days on market (DOM) just 67 days, fairly in line with that of Lower Merion and Radnor. The lowest sales price was $90,000 with the highest at $626,000, and an average sales price of $247,722, which is nearly 1/4 the average sales price on the Main Line in Lower Merion.Courtesy Of : Christopher Benedict 484-433-3931RE/MAX Main Line  610-935-3200 Monthly S...
