I have been showing homes in Lititz over the past few weeks. The older homes are similar with bay windows, wrap around porches, large garages - some with room to park one or more cars.  I do love Lititz - Lititz Springs Park, the shops on Main, Wilbur chocolate... Today I stopped by the General Sutter Inn for a cup of soup. Located at the corner of Broad & Main Streets, the Sutter Inn has been a Hotel/Inn since 1764. Sauder Egg Run Lititz, PA 17543 Today I ran the Sauder Egg run in Lititz, PA. I had anticipated a sunny and warm morning, but was greeted with a cloudy and overcast day. However, it was perfect for running a race. I arrived later than I wanted, but was finally able to get registered for the race about 15 minutes before its beginning. I was anticipating this race to see how much, if any I would improve since I ran the Jingle Bell Run in December. In that race I ran an average of 8:20 miles. My goal for this race was to break 40 minutes or below an 8 minute mile average. It had been several years since I had run this race in Lititz, PA. Don't you just love it when you hear about a private enterprise doing their part for the community? Several weeks ago, Fox's Country Sheds provided a "shed kit" to the Warwick Middle School technology class, in the Warwick School District in Lancaster County, PA.  Warwick School District is in the midst of renovating and expanding their current middle school, and the students are surrounded by on-going construction.  Their very forward-thinking technology teacher thought it would help his students understand the processes going on around them if they could somehow participate in something similar firsthand. --------- Edited 10/12/08 I think the Lititz Porchwalk was a huge success!  I had to drive through Lititz on Saturday morning and then back through again on Saturday afternoon.  The  entire town was buzzing with people enjoying the absolutely beautiful weather!  The cafe's were busting at the seams with both , locals and visitors, stopping for a quick coffee break.  The shops were busy, the porches were full of good stuff, and I drove through town jealous that I couldn't park and walk and participate. A few months ago I posted about my experience in donating blood during our Long & Foster Community Day blood drive at the office, and the importance of helping our your local Red Cross chapter in "Thanks, But I already Gave at the Office".
