New owners settled on 206 Oxford hill Lane in Havertown PA today. After a short showing period and multiple offers our buyers offer was accepted and today they took possession of the keys and ownership of their new home. First time buyer, this young lady I saw growing up when we first moved to America, she was our neighbor and I had the privilege of guiding her through the home buying process. I wish all my clients were as mature in the house hunting process as she has been. She was having to consider the children of her boyfriend and what their needs were as well as her own. I think this home ticks many if not all of the boxes on her wish list.Having looked at multiple homes she was ready when we saw this one. Mortgage pre-approval in hand, we were able to make a strong offer that met m...

Haverford Township continues to see solid home pricing with increasing sales activity.Located in the northeastern part of Delaware County just to the west of the Blue Route (I-476), Haverford Township has been a very popular community along the Main Line for years. Haverford Township was first formed in 1684 from a portion of the original Welsh Tract grant of 1681. For decades it was a prime agricultural area with many mills and industry taking advantage of the local creeks. With the arrival of train and trolley lines, it has developed as a convenient suburb of Philadelphia offering quick access to the Blue Route, Philadelphia, Wilmington, The Philadelphia International Airport, and the Main Line.On a relative basis, Haverford Township home sales pricing has remained steadier than much ...

Last night our local state representative debate between incumbent Greg Vitali and candidate Bill Toal took place in a neighborhood school auditorium. I like the idea of grassroots politics. At this level, we have a real chance of voting in someone who will represent the wishes of the majority of Pennsylvania voters. The League of Women Voters of Haverford Township sponsored this event and set the rules. Questions were presented by moderators who asked questions of the candidates which were written by the audience. It got exciting when one moderator tried to break the rules and stonewall the process with his own question. The League of Women Voter's head tried politely to stop him but it took Mr Vitali to remind the moderator there was a protocol to follow and the audience joined in wi...

Hand Stitching Connects More Than Threads And Fabric in Havertown, Delaware County, PAHand stitching can be a very relaxing thing, often it is done to create a finished product for a friend or family member or a way to make something to embellious one's home.  Well hand stitching can also help bring people together. Every Friday there is a group that gathers at the Haverford Township Free Library on Darby Road starting at 10AM where hand stitchers of all levels meet to form a "community" of hand stitchers.  Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, counted cross-stitch...whatever the medium involving threads or yarn is welcome. For roughly two hours projects done by hand are worked on while the participants drink tea and talk with each other.  Such regular meetings are a great way to help motiv...
