About 30 years ago, I drove with a friend up to Lancaster County on a gorgeous fall day.  Our destination was an ox roast put on as a fund raiser for the Bird-in-Hand, PA volunteer fire department.  We just stumbled on it. The food was amazing.  The people-watching was really fun.  There were buggies and black bumpered cars in the parking lot.  The food was awesome - creamed corn, pies and oh!  The ox!  After stuffing our faces, we stocked up on baked goods offered for sale then waddled back to DC.  So, this fall, I really want to do another ox roast.  Does anyone know when and where there might be one?  The volunteer fire department of Bird-In-Hand, or any other little community up there, needs my support! So any of you Rainers up that way who can lead me along the path to an ox roast,... 09/06/2007
