Tualatin is located 12 miles south of Portland, Oregon at the nexus of Interstate 5, Interstate 205 and the Tualatin River. Although in Tualatin had only 750 residents in 1970, it quickly expanded to over 25,000 people suburban community.In 1853, Samuel Galbreath started a ferry service crossing the Tualatin River from a village he called "Galbreath". Tigard, OR Real Estate Review for March Market Activity in the Portland Metro Area seems to have slowed down when comparing March 2007 with March 2006. New listings increased nearly 24% in the past month, while accepted and closed sales dropped by 9.7% and 23% respectively.The 10,557 active residential listings at the end of March would last approximately 4.9 months at the month’s rate of sales.FIRST QUARTERS/YEAR-TO-DATEWhen comparing market activity through March 2007 to the same time in 2006, the first quarter appears to be off to a slow start. The number of closed sales decreased 6.2%. Pending sales also dropped 4.8%. Tualatin Real Estate Review Previous Month's Average Sales Price: $385,600Year-to-Date Average Sales Price & Appreciation: $378,600, 8.0%.February 2007 seems to follow the same trend we've seen for the last few months with new listings up and pending and closed sales down. However, pending only dipped slightly when compared to the same time last year. Further inventory is down compared to last month. The 9,901 active residential listings at the end of February would last approximately 5.2 months at the month's rate of sales.
