As usual, we went from summer to winter in "0-to-60." Now, I LOVE the Pacific Northwest but this time of year, I find myself adjusting from outdoors to indoors and while “adjusting”, I found this cool event calendar. Just plug in your dates, select an event type and click search. It pulls up a huge list of stuff to do. I love it…perfect for a rainy day when you don’t feel like being a work-a-holic, you’ve seen all the movies that are out and you’d like to explore your own city. Search, click and enjoy! Owning Portland Oregon real estate has some fun benefits! Wet winters, well, not one of them….BUT…for those of us who love and own dogs, we worry when winter comes and our furry family member doesn’t get out much….so Portland Oregon delivers with Fido’s Indoor Dog Park. Laki, my dog, as the vet so loving says, “is geriatric” so we may not make it to Fido’s but I know so many younger dogs who would love it there. The link below is for Fido’s website and has all the info you need but in summary,  there’s an indoor large dog park, separate small dog park and a dog pool. Are you kidding me? It's doggie winter heaven! http://www.fidosindoordogpark.com/ Please visit my sites at: https://www.facebook.com/JenWoodburySellsHomes/ ,http://jenwoodburysellshomes.info/ , http://jenwoodburysellshomes....

If you’ve been watching the Portland Oregon home market, buyers, sellers and Realtors alike have seen the inventory level decline. Zillow reports the inventory in the Portland Metro Area at Bottom Tier (lower price range) at a decline of -7.4%, Middle Tier at -10.4% and Upper Tier at -12.7% and all home inventories -10.8. Although Zillow reports Portland, Oregon real estate as one of the lesser declining markets, we’ve still shrunk. In all honesty, the stats I see reflect a much higher decline so take the numbers with a “grain of salt.” Overall, the takeaway is Portland Oregon home inventory is shrinking and nobody knows if this will continue or slow down. Again, the market is still great for buyers as prices and rates are low, yet a shrinking inventory creates a much better market for ...

Good Try Buyer Investor..But Um No..Not Gonna Happen The other day I recieved a random "Important fax" with a document titled "Letter of Intent to Purchase Real Estate". I'm sure some of you are probably familiar with this document, but it was a first for me to see one. So I check it out and it's like a pre-engagment ring with some basic terms spelled out..a pre-offer. My listing is priced at $400K, a gorgeous home in a great close-in neighborhood. Yeah..I know they say cash is king...but honestly, $250,000??? I had to call just to clarify they meant TWO--hundred and fifty instead of THREE. I was a bit surprised when I got a recording on one number listed that I was being recorded by Trulia...hmmm..yep, I hung up. When I did reach you and realized that you offering on your own behalf, I...

Portland, Oregon real estate is popular for so many reasons. We have a quirky, homey, hip, professional and outdoorsy culture. There’s something for everyone. Today marks the date for The Portland Marathon and many of my friends are running this morning while I enjoy my hot coffee and gluten free pumpkin loaf in the warm of my home while sitting next to my old dog. Although I’ve raced in my fair share of grueling events, I have not entered a marathon. Hats off to everybody running this morning, congratulations for the hours you’ve put into your training and for the fact you’re there!  http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20121006/REALESTATE/121009885/1078&ParentProfile=1055 Please visit my sites at: https://www.facebook.com/JenWoodburySellsHomes/ http://jenwoodburysellshomes.info/ http://...

Top 10 Most Dog-Friendly U.S. Cities (Portland is #1) My adopted rescue pup, Maggie is happy to be living in the #1 Most Dog-Friendly U.S. City! Take a look at this Infographic (courtesy of Bone-A-Fide Dog Ranch in Seattle) that shows the Top 10 Most Dog-Friendly U.S. Cities Dogs are welcome in quite a few shops and stores in Portland, as well as in many dining spots.  In some Portland neighborhoods, merchants leave a bowl of cool water for dogs (and even dog bones) for them to enjoy while on walks.  (According to this Infographic, dogs in Portland Oregon are even welcome on a local Brewery Tour!)    What does your City do to recognize dogs? (Room Solutions Staging, Portland OR)
Our Portland home staging company recently staged a large home (over 6,000 sq ft) to make it more appealing to potential buyers.  When buyers walk into a big, empty house it's hard for them to see themselves living there, and large spaces can be confusing.  Their questions usually include "What's the purpose of this room?" and "How will we place furniture in this space?" In the previous online photos, the house looked OK, but nothing grabbed your attention.  Take a look: The great room & dining area was undefined Staging this space with furnishings warmed it up and showed buyers how they could live there Here you barely notice the fireplace & built-ins Staging highlights the room's focal points and gives it the attention it deserves This main floor room had an undefined function So we s...

Portland Oregon Floating Homes On The Columbia River The other night after showing my floating home listing on the Columbia River, I took the short walk to my own floating home. It was a perfect evening to sit on my deck, sipping a nice cup of fresh brewed coffee, while watching the goings on. It seemed to me like there were just lots more bird wildlife on the river...so most enjoyable! Owning a floating home can cost you a bit more in the way of interest rates and insurance and yes, you have to walk up and down the ramps to get to it...but ya know what? There is just something about being on the water...something about the sounds, the way the light dances over the water that sooths me. It's like looking into a huge fishtank...or watching the yule log. You can get lost in it! With the b...

About Rose City and Roseway NeighborhoodsRose City area is an awesome neighborhood. It is close to Fremont to the north- with all it's shops, cafes and restaurants, and Hollywood to the west. The houses have lots of character with hardwoods, big front porches, and quiet streets with trees and back yards! It's a really good family neighborhood- with prices in the mid-range....some smaller homes affordable in the lower price ranges- and big beautiful houses in the upper. It is a good close-in NE neighborhood full of bungalows, capes, cottages and other older PDX homes- You can walk or bike ride anywhere you want to go- there is really good public transportation and it's a great family neighborhood. All over the area houses are being remodeled and restored- the homes mostly have hardwoods a...

With the Fed printing $40,000,000,000 dollars every single month...with no backing, inflation is going to hit us.  There is no doubt about that!  You need to have solid assets that are real.  I was watching Glenn Beck a few nights ago and he stressed that we need to plan for the future.....by having tangible assets.  Interest rates are still at an all time low and will probably go even lower.....maybe down below 3%   And house prices are at an all time low. This winter they will probably drop again.  When inflation hits, housing will go up....rents will go up, mortgages, interest, house prices will all go up.  Those who have bought houses when houses and interest rates were low, will be able to keep their investments, and the investment will go up!  It is the best hedge against inflatio...

Downtown Portland Photo Op, Making The Best Of Traffic! So here I am just driving along when traffic merging onto I-5 came to a slow crawl. They've been working on the roads around the Portland Metro area...yea for quiet nicely paved roads, but slow traffic comes with this improvement. I'm often driving over many of our Portland bridges (we aren't called the bridge city for nothing) and often wish I was able to snap some of the fantastic views of downtown Portland, but this is very hard...and dangerous when you're driving 55 mph...(yep..sticking to that one) As I was slowly passing this one stretch where the chain link fence opened up, I quickly pulled my I-phone out of it's car stand and started snapping away not sure if I'd get a good shot or not. I was pleasantly surprised when this ...

(Room Solutions Staging, Portland OR)
The Portland real estate market continues to show signs of a rebound this year!  In August, closed sales were at the highest level for a single month in five years.  This activity has impacted our Portland home staging company, too.  Smart sellers realize that their home needs to look its best for a faster sale at the highest price possible. We recently staged a beautiful new construction home in Portland for a repeat client who's both a developer and real estate broker ~ his homes are always among our favorites because of the quality materials used and his strict attention to detail.  When we were about to stage this Portland home, the seller told me he'd list it for a certain amount ... but after seeing the completed staging, he decided that he'd list it for more because he felt that ...
