Is now the right time financially for you to buy a home? Would you rate your financial picture as healthy? Is your credit good? While you can always find a lender to lend you money, solid lenders are more skeptical if your credit history is not good. Generally, a couple of blemishes on a credit report will make you a good credit risk and could qualify you for the lowest interest rates. If you have more than a couple of blemishes on your report, lenders like Quicken Loans may still provide you with a loan, but you may just have to pay a higher interest rate and fees. Some say that you should refrain from borrowing as much as you qualify for because it is wiser not to stretch your financial boundaries. The other school of thought says you should stretch to buy as much home as you can affo...

Before You Move What are some commonly overlooked pre-move arrangements I should make? Use this helpful checklist as a reminder of the things you need to do before you move. Book the movers: It's a good idea to obtain estimates from several different companies. The estimate will depend on whether the movers pack everything or just the breakables, or whether you want to do the packing yourself. If you own your present home: Arrange to have your gas, water, and electricity meters read on the day you leave. Have the bills forwarded to your new address. Have your oil tank read and filled before your sale closes and, if required, give the receipt to your legal professional. Arrange fo...

Just wanted to talk about my neighbourhood.I love bragging about the neighbourhood where I live. It has got to be the best community neighbourhood around. I have never seen one like it! Allison Park neighbours have always come together to make it the best neighbourhood as possible. We have come together and participated in events at our own centralized 3 acre park such as Canada Day Celebrations, Easter Egg Hunt, Pumpkin Carving and more. There have also been Contests every year for the neighbours to participate in such as; best decorated house at Christmas and best decorated house at Hallowe'en. The Community also puts on a Golf Tournament. We've helped raise money over the years to provide a Splah Pad, Swings and park climbers for the children to enjoy. Not only do we contibute to our...

I've Recently helped relocate clients to my home town of Hamilton, Ontario. Once my clients had moved into their new home, I visited them to see how things were going and if there was anything more I could do for them. They asked me If I knew of any Doctors that were accepting new patients. Well, with a shortage of Doctors in Ontario I knew It was going to be a tough one.  I provided them with a couple of referrals by my Doctor and my husband's Doctor. We were also referred to a website that gives a list of Doctors who are accepting NEW PATIENTS in the Hamilton-Ancaster-Stoney Creek- Burlington Ontario Areas. The website is http://www.hamiltondoctors.ca/ ,click on the FIND A DOCTOR Tab. Once there you'll find a list of Doctors who are accepting new patients according to the city or town...

How Much Can You Borrow? A home is typically the largest purchase you will make in your lifetime, and for most Canadians this means obtaining a mortgage.  The amount of your mortgage will determine the size and location of your new home - not to mention the size of your payments. So how do lending institutions decide how large your mortgage loan can be?Lending institutions (such as banks, credit unions, trust companies and insurance companies) want to be certain that you are capable of repaying the money you borrow. Consequently, the loan application process is thorough. Lenders consider your income, credit history, debt load, employment history and collateral, including the value of the property you wish to buy.For More Information on this Subject and how you can qualify for a mortgage...

How do I start being a landlord? Whether you have a small apartment in your basement or own a large high-rise, as a landlord you are subject to rules and regulations that define your responsibilities and what you can and cannot do. Since each province and territory has its own landlord and tenant legislation, make sure you know the rules and regulations that apply to your province (there are some surprising differences). The collection of Provincial and Territorial Fact Sheets    is great reference material to get you started. You can also look for books, booklets, and guides published for new landlords (since legislation can change, make sure that the publication is up to date). *It is also advisable to get some expert legal advice. This is a specialized area of law, so make sure you c...

Add an Elegant Flair to Mother's Day Celebrations(ARA)  - In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother's Day, and 93 years later the celebration carries on with family gatherings, often revolving around an extraordinary meal. Mother's Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant in the United States, according to the National Restaurant Association, but a home-cooked meal is always more meaningful. Instead of taking Mom out to dinner this year, prepare a special Mother's Day meal for her complemented by elegant Athens Mini Fillo Shells, a perfect addition to the menu for a special holiday like Mother's Day. They are easy to use because they come pre-baked and can simply be filled with mom's favorite recipes. They are available at your lo...
