Brady Heights Historic District in Tulsa Oklahoma - The Brady Heights Neighborhood has definite physical boundaries on the south and west. On the north, Marshall Street marks a distinct change in the scale and age of the housing stock. The area derives its name from Tate Brady and from the addition which bears his name. Many architectural styles have influenced the design of Brady Heights. Architects and builders used elements of Queen Anne, Prairie School, Victorian, Georgian Revival and Bungalow styles. Wood and brick are the most common exterior materials. The houses of Brady Heights are on a larger scale and of a more sophisticated design than those of adjacent neighborhoods. Bay windows with leaded glass, servants’ quarters, and broad porches suggest the elegance of earlier days. T...

Taking advantage of this incredible Tulsa weather today (60, sunny, slight wind), I was driving around my neighborhood and decided to snap this shot to share with the world....This is a view of downtown Tulsa from the porch of the Brady Mansion in historic Brady Heights.  That is the BOK Tower, the tallest building in any of the Plains States, in the distance as well as the Philtower, and One Technology Center, the new home of the City of Tulsa.  You can also see the new BOK Center from the front lawn of the mansion. By the way, the Brady Mansion is currently listed for sale at $999,000.

Brady Heights Historic District is located just north of downtown Tulsa and the Brady Arts District.  Brady Heights consists of mostly residential structures built in the teens and 1920s.  Architectural styles (samples) range from Craftsman bungalows to an adaptation of Arlington, the Greek Revival mansion typically associated with Robert E. Lee.  The neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it Tulsa's first historically designated neighborhood. The neighborhood boasts an active association, having worked towards creating the Arts Parkway, a community garden, an eco-conscious population, and downtown views.  With OSU-Tulsa bordering it on the east and an established community of artists & musicians, Brady Heights is positioned to be the up-and-co...

Singer & musician Whit Smith was born in Connecticut, but he now calls Tulsa home.  Playing mostly jazz swing & western swing, Whit has been a part of several bands.  He is most recognizably connected with Hot Club of Cowtown.  As a cultural ambassador, he has played across the globe including eastern Europe for the State Department. Whit is only one-third of his very cool family.   His wife Dusty and their mastiff Blossom, also live in the historic Brady Heights home they purchased after relocating to Tulsa.  I had the pleasure of being their Realtor and now we're neighbors! They purchased this home in 2006 for $158,500.  It is 2,364 square feet and sits on a double lot.  The home features a porte coche, carriage house, stable, wrought iron fence and exquisite interior.  It is in the Tu...
