Bob Burke, Oklahoma City attorney has written more non-fiction books than anyone else that I could find.  In fact, that last sentence and different arrangments of it were found in severl locations around the internet.  Attorney Burke's 100th book about his hometown, Broken Bow, Oklahoma (74728) was unveiled at an all-class school reunion recently in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  Since this is Broken Bow's Centennial year, that was very appropriate.  Checking the website of my favorite online used books store turns up just a few of Mr. Burke's books.. Beavers Bend State Park in southeast Oklahoma near the town of Broken Bow is a delightful place to get away from it all. It's a short 4-4.5 hour drive from the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex making it an easy trip for a weekend.My family and I just spent four unhurried days just relaxing and fishing in the Mountain Fork River trying to catch some brown trout and rainbow trout. While they played elusive we still had a great time just sitting back and taking in all the fall foliage in the area. Absolutely spectacular!Beavers Bend offers several different types of accommodations for any kind of camper. I haven't been around since Sunday night. My husband took me on a journey...a journey without TV, radio or OMG! No Internet! I survived, not well, but survived. I found that I am addicted to blogging and all of you here in the Rain. I felt like I had left my best friend behind.We took a 4 day trip to Beavers Bend State Park in southeast Oklahoma and planned to do some trout fishing. After catching 11 fish during a two hour period we thought we had visited at the right time. Monday was absolutely beautiful but a cold front came in during the night and I suppose the trout hadn't received their tetanus shots because they all had lockjaw! Broken Bow, Oklahoma just south of Broken Bow Lake, which has some of the clearest and cleanest water in the state.  Broken Bow Lake is a deep water lake and very clear allowing light to penetrate deep into the water. The state also stocks and maintains trout in the Lower Mountain Fork River below the lake. Cabin rentals are available in the Broken Bow Lake and Mountain Fork areas and float trips are available on the Mountain Fork.  Broken Bow is located in the extreme southeast part of Oklahoma in McCurtain County.  The area is visited often by outdoorsmen for hunting, fishing, atving, hiking, snorkeling & scuba diving and I shouldn't stop there. There are just many many reasons to come and enjoy the area.
