Lebanon's Warren County Historical Society to Host Winter Farmer's Market!  If you live anywhere near Lebanon you know we have a thriving Farmer's Market every Thursday just around the corner from The Golden Lamb.  Other than growing your own, nothing beats getting fresh produce from your local farmer's market.  Who knows how many miles away and days ago your typical supermarket produce originated.  On the other hand, patronizing a local farmer, you know it didn't travel far and it's freshly harvested! Last Thursday the local Lebanon Farmer's Market wrapped up it's season. And typically after that you'd have had to resign yourself to the supermarkets again.  BUT NOT THIS YEAR!  Thanks to the Warren County Historical Society, the Farmer's Market continues through the fall and into the wi...

Update on Lebanon Ohio School Tax Levy Election for November 8 2011 Chances are you're already made up your mind for the November 8th ballot.  You're either firmly pro-school and you'll do what you've got to do to make it happen, or you're anti-levy, and that's probably all there is to it.   But if you're on the fence, or your mind isn't totally set for which oval to color on that ballot, perhaps the latest news from this week's The Western Star will help you make up your mind.   The current levy request is 3.78 mills, which equates to approximately $116/yr for every $100,000 in home value.  Per Cincinnati MLS, 283 homes have sold in the Lebanon School District in 2011 for an average price of $173,975.  Extend that levy out and the average home owner is up for an additional $201.84 per ...

Has The Lebanon Ohio Real Estate Market Recovered? The first thing that comes to mind when you ask someone about the real estate market is probably "THE MARKET IS HORRIBLE!!!".  But is it true?  We've been analyzing the local Warren County markets and finding there's a mix of results.  For instance, Mason is rapidly recovering.  On the other hand, the Little Miami School District is suffering badly and continuing to drop value. So how is the Lebanon City School district performing?  We've pulled the data straight from the Cincinnati MLS for the Lebanon City School District and there's no manipulation here, just straight numbers telling the story. The first table is a year to year comparison, basic information as to how many homes sold, what the average price was, median price, and avera...

Paying It Forward:  Supporting Visionaries & Voices Yesterday we posted about our favorite hair salon Lucid holding an Art & Beauty Night to feature Visionaries and Voices (V&V).  V&V is a non-profit organization working with disabled artists who create what is known as "outsider art".  In essence, these artists have no formal training and do their own thing.  They have outstanding creativity and produce some unique work that you'd be proud to have hanging on your home's walls! So after meeting with a potential listing and then working on our own landscaping late afternoon & early evening (15 plants in the ground....another 25 to go!), getting both of us to the event wasn't practical, so Bill the Engineer got to step out of his comfort zone and attend a social event!  So he checked in f...
