I'm so very happy to share, "I love my park day" registration is now open!! May 4th, 2019 is a day dedicated to show love and care to your local parks!! Which really, can be every day, yet at least we have one day that brings total awareness. In short, you help clean up, repair and prepare the local parks for public use. Feng Shui Manhattan participated last year and we enjoyed every minute of it!I've already signed up and have decided to venture toward the Taconic State Park in New York. I hear they have fabulous hiking trials and a wonderful water fall to view! The Parks and Trails of New York website provides a list of parks that are participating throughout the New York State region. Obviously, this Hudson River sunset was from a different time of year, however, looking at the photo made me wish for a time when the snow was behind us,If you are not familiar with this area in the background you are looking at the top of the Catskills Mountains.  The body of water is the well known Hudson River and the photo was taken from the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park in Hudson NY located in the Hudson Valley. What can I say, Hudson is a popular word in this region.     02/28/2019

This land is back on the market and available once again!    Located in Hudson NY  the Perfect Ten an after school club for girls  8-18 will have a beautiful new space to call home.I recently wrote about the new location for the Hudson Area Library in the Old Armory,  Perfect Ten will be on the third floor of the same building.  The girls in the Perfect Ten Club will learn different skills and plan for the future,  including college.   I had the opportunity to tour the space this week and I know many young girls would love to have such a place in their community.Let's  peek inside. The staircase to the space had many affirmation  written on it. The conference room with white walls was enhanced by photos of girls, and the coloful chairs around the conference table.You can tell much thought was put into putting the space together.  I love the wi... 03/25/2016

Hudson Athens LighthouseThe Hudson-Athens Lighthouse is located on the Hudson River. As the name implies it lies between Athens NY in Greene County on the west bank of the Hudson River, and the City of Hudson in Columbia County on the east bank.This is one of several lighthouses to be found on the Hudson River.  The Hudson-Athens  Lighthouse was built in 1874 because of difficult navigation issues in the area.Tours of this gem on the river is available in the warmer weather.    03/23/2016

I could have named this post, "The things I'll do for a post" but thought Columbia County NY Fall scenery and a fear of heights was a bit more descriptive so here it goes. Heights and I have never been friends, but I've been working on improving our relationship. There is a fire tower near my home that I've been practicing on, and on a recent trip into Columbia County I found another fire tower. Agent's DayI have received invitations to many  Agent's Days however I was never able to fit it into my schedule until this passed Wednesday.This particular Agent's Day was hosted by the Columbia Greene Board of Realtor.  This is the most northern MLS I belong to.  I have not met most of the agents in person and I thought this was a great way to do so.It was a beautiful weather day and we boarded the boat at the Henry Hudson Park Hudson NY, and took off down the Hudson River.  There was so much to see, the beautiful scenery and the vessels going up and down the river.  I managed to get some networking done between taking photographs :)A very nice lunch was served and there was also an opportunity to to win prizes.  I won two practical gifts, a book entitled "The Language of Real Estate"... 09/18/2015

 Barn Studio in Germantown NYThis weekend I had an opportunity to  visit artists in their studios. There were a variety of studios, some as spacious as this red barn studio in Germantown NY.  The owner of this studio painted large abstract pieces. There were many pieces outside and even more inside the barn.The Hudson Valley region because of its beauty attracts many artists, and because of that, a home with an existing barn is always on the wish list of many.Next year I will have another chance to vist more artists in their studios. 09/06/2015

A couple weeks ago while attending the Chacellor's Sheep and Wool Showcase at Clermont State Historic Site  I had my first encounter with herding dogs.   Although there were sheep at this event the dogs were herding ducks, this was such a cute event.I could not have asked for a nicer setting, the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains was the backdrop.  The event thrilled both young and old. 04/26/2015

Today was the annual Chancellor Sheep and Wool showcase at the Clermot State Historic Site.  You could not have asked for better weather, and a perfect setting.  I took an hour out of my day for a bit of fun.This event was well attended and there were a variety of vendors and activities.    The shearing of the sheep and the herding dogs demonstration were two of my favorites.Most of all I was able to spend the hour with my daughter,   We even had hot dogs which was a treat.Today was once again a reminder of how beautiful the Hudson Valley really is.         04/18/2015

Fall foliage by the Hudson Cruise This time of year is beautiful, so many vibrant Fall colors.  Just the other day I was watching a boat heading up the Hudson River and I was reminded of how lovely it is to view the Fall Foliage by boat. There are many boat cruises on the Hudson River, however I want to introduce you to the Fall Foliage by the Hudson Cruise which is located at the Henry Hudson River Park in Hudson NY.             The Hudson Cruise offers an hour and a half tour of views of Fall Foliage.  The tour will take you to the Athens Waterfront  and down by the Rip Van Winkle Bridge where you can enjoy the Fall Foliage surrounding the Olana historic site.  It would also be an opportunity to observe wild life on the river. The Hudson Valley Apple Festival in Germantown NY The apple season is here and it is time for the  Hudson Valley Apple Festival in Germantown NY.  Germantown is perfect for such a festival because there are many apple farms in the area.  During the season it is not uncommon to see workers from as far as the Caribbean assisting with the harvest. These days in Hudson NY there is always a fair or celebration going on.   It is a culturally diversed city, and recently I had the opportunity to attend a Bangladeshi Cultural Fair. The Train track with spectacular views This train track runs along the Hudson River on what would be considered prime real estate.   If the track was being planned today I am sure it would not be located here.  The location is not likely to change so why not enjoy the spectacular views.   This track is used by Amtrak trains, and is located between the Rhinecliff  Train Station in Rhinebeck NY and The Hudson Train Station in Hudson NY. 06/14/2014
