How is the housing market in Smithtown New York? With 22 months of inventory on the housing market in Suffolk County it is easy for sellers and agents to be discouraged. Homes that are priced in line with the competition are sitting still. Agents are reporting that open houses are unattended and buyer interest has dropped off. Despite interest rates that are below 5% many buyers are choosing to remain on the fence rather than get an average priced listing.  However I can attest that homes that are priced really well are moving. The Smithtown Township Arts Council is hosting its Second Annual Book Sale and Granny's Attic Fundraiser at the Mills Pond House in St. James this Spring.
