Rhinebeck NY real estate market in August 2011 had 4 sales between the town and Village, that was one less sale than in August 2010.  During the month 8 new properties came on the market in the town and 1 in the village.  These homes ranged in price from $155,900- $1,369,000.  The oldest house is one presently in contract. It was built in 1849 and is located on one of Rhinebeck's most scenic roads, River Road. Besides the single family detached home sales, 1 townhouse sold in Rhinebeck for $323,000. Cinnamon Indian Cuisine is a restaurant in Rhinebeck specializing in Indian Cuisine.   This restaurant opened just a few weeks ago and I recently visited for the second time. ------ On my second visit I had the opportunity to speak with Shiwanthi Widyarathra one of the owners, and discovered that she relocated from Fairfield Connecticut where she was a partner in another restaurant. Mango Kulfi was the perfect dessert to end a lovely evening. I grew up with mangoes raining down on the roof of the house. I can still see that large mango tree. Where can you swim if your summer rental in Rhinebeck does not have a pool?  This is the question some vacationers in Rhinebeck will face. The Town of Rhinebeck has a solution for this dilemma.  Each year the recreation department but out a recreation brochure to inform the public of the summer swim program. What will it cost to participate? Rhinebeck real estate market report revealed 2 sales during the month of May. 1 in the Town of Rhinebeck for $435,000 and 1 in the Village for $145,000. How did this May compare to last May? Like in Red Hook, the number of sales fell.  Last May there were 7 sales, 3 in town and 4 in the village. The truth is, if you really need to sell  it will be necessary to take a second or even third look at the price your home is listed at.  The price is determined by the present market; so if your home has been on the market and you failed to get showings or an offer,  take another look at the price.
