Today I went to lunch with one of my client it was such a lovely spring day in Rhinebeck. This is the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and we dined at one of the participating Rhinebeck restaurant; Cinnamon Indian Cuisine since we both love spices. I tried one of the soups, a corn spinach soup with a hint of lemon, and I can say I made the right choice, it was oh so delicious. Restaurant week actually runs until March 31st, and I was told Cinnamon Indian Cuisine is having full house for dinner,  so you might want to get there early, or call to see if you can get  a reservation.    I am in the process of selling her house so of course we discussed the next steps.   03/22/2012

I recently made a trip to The Phantom Gardiner in Rhinebeck NY.  I did not go alone it was a trip organized by the Old Dutch Garden Club of Red Hook. Purpose of the trip to the Phantom Gardener We were attending a talk given by My. Lazar the owner of the Phantom Gardener, the topic was Organic vegetable gardening.  This was the perfect place for such a discussion since organic gardening is a specialty of this garden center. There was discussion of soil preparation, the importance of composting as well as the type of manure that should be incorporated into the soil.  There was discussion on how to deal with different bugs and pests as well as our 4 footed friends like the deer. Overkill? I will be the first to admit I know very little about cars and trucks, I just want the one I am in to work.  In Rhinebeck during December 2011 7 single family homes sold,  the same number sold in Rhinebeck during December 2010 .  The range of homes sold this year was: $105,000-$675,000 while in 2010 it was $339,000-$1,525,000.  The average price of the home sold was: $302,500 in the town and $257,000 in the village.  In 2010 the average price was much higher; $720,780 in the town and $422,000 in the village. Now that 2011 has ended it was reported that 51 single family homes listed on the Mid Hudson MLS  sold in 2011.  35 of these homes were in the town and 16 in the village.
