Home sales for Red Hook 12471 in August 2014 Home sales for Red Hook 12571 in August 2014 was healthy when compared to August 2013.  Back then there were 3 sales, and this August 10, what an improvement! Red Hook NY home sales July 2014 and Red Hook homes for sale   Red Hook NY home sales July 2014 was the same as last July;9 sales..  However this year had the least expensive sale, a short sale which sold for $72,000 and  the most expensive  home which sold for $1,087,300 a lovely luxury home.   During the month the Red Hook homes for sale increased by 15 homes.  These homes ranged in price from $228,500-$899,000. Monday's Flower is a day late because last night I encountered AR system update.  This will be the last post of the season, and I will pick this series up again in early  Spring. Bee Balm The Bee Balm is a lovely summer flowers which is available in a variety of colors.  In my garden I have the pink but will add the red next spring. So far it seem to grow well in sun and partial shade.   It will grow between two to four feet.  I read somewhere that in really good soil it can become invasive, I think that is the case in my garden.  Maybe I should cutback on the use of compost. This plant attracts butterflies and hummingbirds, and of course bees as can be seen in this photo. Queen of the Prairie I fell in love with the Queen of the Prairie at the Clermont Plant Sale a few years ago.  I loved the delicate pink flower, however because it was known to grow between 4- 8 feet I wasn't sure I wanted it in the garden. In the end I did leave the sale with a plant. At first it did not do so well, something kept eating it. I blamed the deer but it could have been another critter.  The plant produced additional shoots so I moved a couple to another garden and hid them between other plants so they would have a chance of surviving, a move I never regretted. Summer is here On Saturday I was going down Pitcher Lane in Red Hook by Greig Farm, it was such a beautiful day.   I could see the beautiful Catskill Mountains in the distance, and several summer lovers were sitting outside enjoying a meal.  Further down the road there were people picking strawberries and enjoying the outdoors.
